Ok, yeah. Original title, I know. I really do have nothing better that I can think of!
This, incidentally, is the same dragon that appears in this piece: [link] - cookies to anyone who realised that haha.I'm not really sure why I drew this. I mean... just from the point of view of I just drew a picture with a ridiculous amount of leaves in (and swore never to do that again), and here I am doing a picture with hundreds of scales in (I would say I'd not do this again but... I said that the last time....
).This guy is very fun to draw
He doesnt have a name though, I cant seem to find one appropriate enough. But he's a powerful dragon envoy who is fairly significant in a story I'm sort of cooking up.So whilst this was frustrating to draw bec ause of the number of scales, I had a lot of fun with it. Moreover, I'm actually really satisfied with most of it, which is great. I havent enjoyed a final piece so much in.. well.. a long time!
So that makes me happy!This piece is an A6 drawing too - I think I will be doing more of these in the future
Theyre big enough to make complex but.. not so big to be overwhelming! Hopefully drawing more of these will help me hone my precision and detailing Ok.. now.. back to doing Christmas art!!
I have at least 6 pictures to do! Eep!!

I love your backgrounds they are very detailed and interesting. Your colour cordination is good as well i like how the blue and white compliment each other. The detail on the dragons scale are pretty awsome as well.

THIS IS really really good O: Those SCALES, oh my goodness, they look so lovely! And the wing, too -- I adore how you did the semi-transparent effect of the wing, that looks REALLY nice!
The background is great too -- I love how you did those trees! If you want crit, hmm. You could try making the colours a bit more desaturated? Because as they are, the dragon kiiind of blends in with the trees. If you had desaturated trees (or more snow, or trees that weren't as green) I FEEL that your dragon fellow would POP more. Y'know what I'm saying? IT'S STILL veeery very well-done, though O: Amazing work, lovelet!

And thanks! That makes sense about the trees and stuff. Teh dragon pops a bit more in real life, the scan is not so great, but I see what you mean. Desaturating the background a little more would help bring out the character
Reeeeeally cant think of a name for him T___T;;; He's a really important dragon, the sole envoy to the human kingdom so he needs a name befitting his super grand and regal status lol~ My uncultured brain cannot supply one such name. D'oh

Poppety pop.... if I ever draw him again I'll be sure to try it out anyway... I dunno if I can bear to draw all those scales again though!
