One Foot - WALK THE MOON

Those of you following me probably already know how important the Mario & Luigi RPG series is to me, Bowser’s Inside Story in particular! So, I thought I’d finally make some proper art regarding Alphadream’s bankruptcy. I tried to imitate the official art style while maintaining some aspects of my own style, and even added a bit of a personal twist- for example, I drew the bros doing Mighty Meteor because it’s my favorite attack in the game, and Luigi is wearing the Challenge Medal because that’s what I currently have equipped! c: Also, this is my submission for Inktober Day 15: Legend, so I drew everything but the background traditionally! I just went with a proper title this time because I wanted to attempt to do it justice. ;u;

While BIS is the only game from the RPG series I’ve played so far (as late as it is, I might be getting Dream Team for my birthday- heck yes) words cannot describe how important it is to me. I got it for my 10th birthday by sheer accident. My sisters and I originally wanted a different Mario game, but apparently while my parents were out shopping to get it for us, someone came up to them and told them to get BIS instead! Who would've thought.

I just love this game so much and it holds so many memories. I remember waking up at the crack of dawn with my sisters just so we could progress together. I remember taking spelling tests on Fridays in 5th grade and running home so I could try to beat the final boss. I remember playing it while sitting in the back of the car as my parents drove my sisters and I around the neighborhood. BIS is just so nostalgic to me and I love it so so much. I even still have my very first file, the one I got almost 9 years ago.

This game has been there for me through thick and thin, and to hear that Alphadream has gone bankrupt breaks my heart. It feels like a piece of my childhood is going away too. :’( I’d just like to thank the developers at Alphadream for everything. Thank you for many of the best memories of my life. You put so much love into these games and it shows in every detail. I really hope this isn’t the end, but if it is, please know that you’ve impacted me (and other fans of the series) more than you’ll ever know.
