Extremes mesures means extremes ways...
Stunning.
making me all cold and I don't like the atmosphere in my head after viewing this.
I means I don't want to be like this... and I don't want her to be sad...
WEIGHT A word I fear... Thanks for the picture... and for the thinking coming with it. and the message too.
Congrats too for the DD.

I like how you balanced the composition by placing her on the edge of the trunk.

people seem to think that their size preference is still relevant on commentary. Some even think it is advanced critique.
Leave your rudeness at the door people. There is a message behind this picture and if some of you asshats would simply try and put yourself in another persons shoes you would probably not be so quick to insult or judge.
The emotion was captured. My heart cringed a bit. I am familiar with this feeling in the image - and I'm sure I'm not the only person who has said this.
well done.

you have quite the photographic eye and talent. poetically the name is equal to the visual effect.
stylistically this is brilliant, beautiful and moving beyond mere words, so i shall stop trying to use anymore to describe it.
thank you for sharing this,

At frist, I thought this was a picture of a plucked turkey because it has that silhouette. I need to get new glasses.
Anyway, I really like this. It's nice see pictures of just average women.

This started an avalanche of thought in my mind. I have to be blunt, I have to be honest for my point to be made, so please forgive my initial train of thought here.
The first thing that came to mind was wonder how anyone could ever let themselves get so grotesquely obese. It's not just that we live in a commercially driven society that drives the aesthetics of what we see, desire, and wish to be. It's also to do with health of body, and the health of body effecting health of mind. I'll admit to both of those reasons for my shock.
Then I noticed her facing away from me, her head down - far down. I felt sadness for her and anger at myself for my initial thoughts. She feels so alone, and I can feel that. Then I read the title of the piece and see her "friend".
She's alone because of the judgments that people pass on her (much like my initial reaction). Her friend has no predetermined or programmed judgments to pass and so remains loyal, friendly, and by her side.
I'm angry at my sadness for her, because I'm sad that she's obese as well as being sad for her loneliness. I'm angry at the status quo of society creating mindless automatons that create the ugliness of these judgments, that create her loneliness, that prohibit so many from seeing her being, her consciousness, and what may be her beauty as well. I'm angry at myself for not personally growing outside of societies demoralizations.
This is a hard thing to look at. I came away with a lot of doubt, and not enough change.

This image is just amazing.. Its just some of these comments have made me disgusted. This Image speaks to me, since I too suffer with weight, (and I'm not afraid to admit it.) seeking animal friendship is one of the few things that overweight people can reach out to. These people need to realize that we all can't be anorexic super models no one is perfect, Personally I think shes beautiful. The expectations of men and women are set way too high due to todays Advertisement and so on, I mean, you almost never see overweight people in anything besides weight loss commercials and if you see them in Hollywood movies they are only being made fun of and ridiculed. But anyway, This piece is fantastic, Fantastic shot its nice to see an Image that actually deserves a "Double D".

Perfect way to reply to this topic, Heartlesswyvern. You've really captured the essence of our society and the things I couldn't quite put into words!
Great pic! I know that I, myself, have more animal friends than people friends. Animals love you for who you are, no matter what you look like. They're true friends indeed.

Wow, this piece really got to me, I love it.
That's pretty much exactly what my stature is like, while I tend not to dwell on the stigma too much, it does get to me
Excellent piece.

You're.. One.. To talk?
I'm not sure where this is going.
I understand that you're a grump, that hates everyone, and likes being mean for the hell of it, but the rest of the world doesn't need to hear it.

actually they are both genders are... the same ability women have to keep a friendship with a fat (lets say things as they r) girl/boy, men also have... and it's a matter of personal state of mind, not a gender if u r choosing ur friends or show a will to be someone's friend depending on his appearance.
