This is one of the projects i have been working on. Resin buttons!

I just opened up a whole bag of parcels from eBay... So my silicone mold box is so full now, it is hard to close it... And it is not even a joke, it is STUFFED!
I poured these buttons about 2 days ago, but i only just de-molded them today, wanted to be sure they had cured fully! xD

I only had a handful of molds 2 days ago, i still got some in the few other types of molds i had at the time, than needs a back layer, so prob gonna whip that up very soon, so those can finish as well. ^_^

Now on to this project.

I mixed some white and mint green paint as well as white and pastel pink paint, all 3 types is acrylic paints. I mixed and mixed and once it looked like it had been mixed enough i pop'd the surface bubbles i could see, then i poured the mixtures into this button mold. Everything looked fine, i pop'd bubbles etc. then put them away safely from cat curiosity and waited... 2 days later, this is what i have.

There are places where bubbles had hidden away so some of them have small bubble holes (Specially on the edges!) some of them need a quick sanding on the back so they become fully flat. And there are some annoying white streaks and lines from where the white paint hadn't been mixed well enough.

This was a good test project, i learned quite a lot from this. Since i now have a million molds to pick from, i will try again with some other colors.

Resin is a very messy hobby, i had paper towels EVERYWHERE after my small session. But damn it is really a fun medium to work with. I also have UV Resin i plan to use for open bezels once those arrive. Might even make my own bezels at some point.

Resin is a VERY expensive hobby if you ask me, since for beginners like me, it is very much a hit and miss if the pieces turn out any good.
There are a TON of brands who sell Resin, and not all work the same for everyone.
Depends where you live i guess, if it is humid, cold, warm etc.

So far the only brand i have tried are "GedeO" That i found in my local hobby store. 179 dkk for 150ml!!! *dies*

So i am looking into online brands now! It seems it is 50/50 with the most brands, so i will have to try out different ones, until i find the one that works best for me.

My UV Resin for example is from Ebay... And so far i haven't had the best results with it ^^''' Prob also comes down to me being a complete beginner with this medium. But i am looking forward to learning and hopefully make some cool stuff for myself *cough* Legend of zelda *cough*
