Description Tried a new style whereby I didn't colour it to death... quite happy with the result even though it took me hours to get it to look anything other than a technicolour yawn, then the scan sucked, oh well.

Touched up 20/12/04.

i really like this..i love the way you highlighted your skin, like on her legs, and the different shades in her hair..its all so subtle and very effective. its not a technicolor yawn oh! and the light subtle flowers on the pink part of the sash/belt..great job..it ads a little something more without over doing it

You have eye for the fanciful and create lovely traditional art. Do you have Photo Shop? I have a feeling you could really do wonders with a computer graphics program

Wow, thank you for the compliment! I have Photoshop but only use it to touch up on the crappy scans I do. The rest gets a bit tricky...

I have Photoshop but only use it to touch up on the crappy scans I do.

That’s like having a Lamborghini and only taking it out for a Sunday drive twice a year! I think you could do some really wonderful things with PS beyond just using it to clean up scans of your traditional media.

There is nothing like being able to know you can β€œundo” a mistake with a simple click. I made the transition to digital art about 8 years ago and only paint in acrylic a couple of times a year when I long for the old media.

If you are interested in pursuing the more powerful features of PS two sites I highly recommend for building up skills are Good-Tutorials.com with particular attention to the left links for Top views in β€œmonth”/Top viewed tutorials. And this one: TutorialOutpost.com which doesn’t have as many but is still a good reference.

Also if you have the funds a 6X8 Wacom tablet helps tremendously with the transition from traditional to digital.
