Here's the second project from this semester's painting class, which I've wanted to upload for some time now. This was my first painting using verdaccio (an earthy green underpainting) in combination with a lot of various colored glazes as opposed to straight wet-into-wet painting and, I must say, it went swimmingly. For a first attempt, I think it went well. I've done a lot of experimenting with this new painting method, so I have at least a little bit more command over it now. I've mostly been doing portraits and whatnot, so I did one of my Faust looking all pensive and scientific as a sister portrait to the first one I did of Mephisto: [link] (Though I kinda wanna redo it now... ) This one does look a lot better in person, but this is the best image I could get.... DX
