The sun was setting. Several hours had passed since Minalva, Romatzo, Delphine and Marina had returned to the Guild, but Omdeo was still outside in the courtyard, where he had waited the group all the day and he seemed to continue to wait for something.

- Like I said, the cave is big, with secret rooms too. I found a lot of objects and artefacts. Some are magic and seemed pretty powerful and malefic. About the secret rooms, they were very well hidden and I may be I have missed some of these.
- I see. said the old mage, passing his hand in his beard. I will send a team to retrieve the objects and to search if there are more hidden rooms. But the important thing is, did you find any traces of the Egg of Gornhoth?
- No, I'm sure it is not there. Even if I have missed things, there was no malefic energy high enough to correspond to it. It confirm what you suspected."

Omdeo nodded and stayed silent for a minute or two, then he said:

" Grimlok told me they fought a Superior Demon and a lich. Have you made sure that they are really dead? These creatures tend to come back to life, if not killed properly.

Against a dwarf, whose strength is extreme and whose constitution is equally so, the Superior Demon must have chosen to fight mostly with brute force, to show its own superiority. Le soleil se couchait. Plusieurs heures avaient passé depuis que Minalva, Romatzo, Delphine et Marina étaient revenus à la Guilde, mais Omdéo était toujours dehors dans la court, là où il avait attendu le groupe toute la journée et il semblait continuer à attendre quelque chose.
Soudain un nouveau portail s'ouvrit.

" Ah ! Enfin!"

L'homme qui en sortit était le même qui avait suivit les quatre héros. Il portait une armure légère sombre et une épée à son côté droit. Il était couvert de sang, mais pas une goûte n'était le sien.

" Ha, mon garçon! Je suis content que tu sois enfin là. Je commençais à m'inquiéter. dit Omdéo.
- La grotte était plus grand que ce que nous pensions, Grand Aventurier. Ça m'a pris longtemps pour l'explorer entièrement. répondit Amon. Comment vont nos quatre amis ?
- Grimlok m'a apporté des nouvelles. Ils sont soignés et ils se reposent maintenant.
- Je suis rassuré. J'ai gardé un œil sur eux, mais je ne suis pas intervenu, comme vous me l'aviez demandé. Mais j'ai faillit le faire quand Delphine s'est faite transpercer. Mais elles ont bien géré la situation et j'ai juste fait en sorte qu'ils rentrent sain et sauf ici. dit-il, souriant.
- Et tu as bien fait. Même si je t'avais dit de ne pas le faire, je savais que tu serais intervenu si tu avais dû. C'est pourquoi je t'ai choisi pour les suivre." répondit Omdéo, souriant aussi. Ils restèrent silencieux pendant quelques secondes, puis Omdéo ajouta: " Qu'as-tu trouvé durant ton exploration de la caverne ?
- Comme je l'ai dit, elle est grande, avec des chambres secrètes aussi. J'ai trouvé beaucoup d'objets et d'artefacts. Certains sont magiques et semblent puissants et maléfiques. A propos des chambres secrètes, elles étaient très biens cachées et j'ai pu en raté.
- Je vois. dit le vieux mage, passant la main dans sa barbe. Je vais envoyer une équipe récupérer ces objets et pour chercher s’il y a plus de salles secrètes. Mais la chose importante est, as-tu trouvé des traces de l'Œuf de Gornhoth ?
- Non, je suis sûr qu'il n'est pas là-bas. Même si j'ai raté des choses, il n'y avait pas d'énergie maléfique suffisamment puissante pour y correspondre. Ça confirme ce que vous suspectiez."

Omdéo opina et resta silencieux pendant une minute ou deux, puis il dit :

" Grimlok m'a dit qu'ils avaient affronté un Démon Supérieur et une liche. As-tu vérifié qu'ils étaient bien morts ? Ces créatures ont tendances à revenir à la vie, si elles ne sont pas tuées proprement.
- Ne vous en faites pas pour ça. Je suis revenu sur les lieux de leurs combats après leur départ et ils ont tous fait un excellent travail. Je dois dire, j'ai été impressionné par le choix audacieux de Romatzo de rester seul pour affronter le démon et, je l'avoue aussi que j'ai été surpris qu'il survive au combat.
- C'était un choix audacieux pour sûr. répondit Omdéo. Mais je pense qu'il a choisit instinctivement la bonne option. Contre un nain, dont la force est extrême et dont la résistance l'est toute autant, le Démon Supérieur a dû choisir de se battre en utilisant principalement la force pure, pour montrer sa supériorité. S'ils étaient tous restés pour se battre, la créature aurait utilisée des tours et de la magie pour faire face au nombre. Je ne doute pas qu'à eux quatre ils l'auraient vaincu, mais à quel prix. En tout cas, tu as raison, le fait qu'il ait survécu est très impressionnant. Romatzo a beaucoup de potentiel. En fait, ils en ont tous."

Amon ne pouvait qu'être d'accord. Ce qu'il avait vu là-bas, même si leur capacité de combat pouvait s'améliorer, était plus qu'impressionnant.

" Mais assez parlé pour le moment. dit le Grand Maître de la Guilde. Tu dois être fatigué, mon garçon et je suis sûr que tu aimerais te laver.
- Ha ha ! Oui, c'est sûr. Je ne dirai pas non.
- Très bien alors. Je te laisse le temps de te laver et si tu veux, nous irons voir tous les deux nos quatre amis.
- J'en serai très heureux, Maître Omdéo.

Ils entrèrent dans la Forteresse, soulagé que cette longue journée soit fini. Mais le visage d'Omdéo arborait une expression sérieuse. Une pensée importante et inquiétante continuait de tourner dans son esprit.

" C'est maintenant sûre que ce n'est pas la liche qui a récupéré l'Œuf de Gornhoth à notre intendance. Donc où est-il maintenant et qui l'a volé ?..."

I liked working on this picture because it has been easier than the last ones I worked on.

I'm sure most of you had forgotten about the "mysterious man" who had followed the group in the picture "Ready for the Fight ".
Magnus, your hunch was right, it was Amon, indeed. ^^
These shoulder pads gives the impression that Amon have really large shoulders. lol
Yes, he has blue blood on him. I don't know why but I imagine the blood of the green skins bluish.

At the beginning, Omdeo is called "Great Adventurer". As the master of the guild, it's one of its title (it's actually the main title of its function).
