Shit happens. I'm not the first person to parody classical art with characters from games/movies/entertainment, and I won't be the last. When looking for classic paintings that include both a knight and princess/Queen, that are also good quality and well known enough to be obvious parodies, your options do become limited.

I began looking for references back when I did my Princess Peach image, because I knew I wanted to do a series. I narrowed it down to about 2-3 images, and ultimately, this is the one I went with.

It's unfortunate that we both hit upon the same idea, but like I said, these things happen.

I understand. Both of your interpretations are great in their own way. Wasn't trying to compare. I just thought it was funny when I stumbled onto yours when I had something similar fav'd already. It's very nice work. I hope to be as good someday.

Ha ha, thank you very much.
And thank you for letting me know the other existed, so I'm aware. c:

for the record, it's not even the same idea really. Yours is obviously twilight princess and includes the background characters, the other is skyward sword. They're also executed completely differently, yours being digital and valuing accuracy in costume to the game, and there's being traditional and valuing similarity to the painting over the game.Β

It's actually really interesting to see the two interpretations and no one "beat" anyone to them. Even if you saw that one first the two are so wildly different it's not even a comparison.Β

I really do like how their interpretation was from Syward Sword. Zelda's dress works especially well, when compared to the original painting. c:

right? and i love yours because you kept the spirit of the game as well as including more characters in the BG, the more the merrier really~
