Azelia is a young transwoman who thrives on adventure and treasure hunting. She lives on her own, travels on her own, and would rather do anything alone. She's a little greedy when it comes to treasure, so she would rather not share and is more than capable of obtaining such treasures herself. That is, until she meets Surge on an adventure. They were both after the same thing and she wasn't willing to part the treasure with him. She wasn't fond of him at first, but the more they "coincidentally" met up on more treasure hunts, the closer they became.

What Azelia didn't realize, upon further investigation, is that Surge was actually her childhood friend before they were separated and she began to transition. They were fairly young, but she realized when she was looking at one of their childhood photos that she kept with her her whole life. Surge never knew, and before she could tell him they've already grown very close. He asked her out and she was afraid that he wouldn't accept her and hesitated to give him her answer. After a while of debating with herself, she finally accepted and decided not to tell him anything out of fear.

A year passes after they're together and Azelia goes on an adventure herself to find an anniversary gift for Surge. She finds a blue crystal in a cave behind a waterfall that she thought would be the perfect gift, but after she takes it, she becomes trapped inside the crystal. Surge notices that she's been gone for quite some time and goes searching for her. She is then declared missing, and 5 years pass before Surge finally finds her. When he frees her from the crystal, she has lost all memories of him. He then takes her in to help her revive her lost memories of them together.
