My entry for pandalamaa 's Royal Ball contest: CONTEST! 2000 points+ in prizes~I chose to draw pandalamaa 's character, Princess Illyana, with my character, Akemi. Both are quiet and quite studious, as well as the more feminine of characters. This is just before Illyana's marriage to Hideyoshi.

Outside in the palace gardens, Princess Illyana perched on the marble bench, beside her new companion.
They discussed the kinds of books they preferred and Illyana expressed her thoughts about her upcoming marriage. It was to a man she had never met after all. Akemi thought over it, she had found love on her own, so she could not identify properly with Illyana.
Even so, she wanted to help reassure her newfound friend.
"I think it would best to take it slow and see how it develops," Akemi spoke softly as her mind wandered back to the times before her own relationship blossomed, "Love is always scary at first, whether arranged or not, but it can grow into something beautiful."
Illyana took in Akemi's words and smiled.
"Thank you."
They spent the rest of the night together talking.

Wowwww, this is stunning! I LOVE the way you did the sky, the stars, and the mood in general. Look at the lanterns as well <33 And the little excerpt you've written is very evocative; it's great to see Illyana and Akemi bonding! They are indeed rather similar to one another, with their quieter and more observant personalities. I think it's adorable that they're talking about love. Akemi has quite a bit to talk about on that subject as well, and a lot of the books she writes are inspired by her own romance with Minato

As soon as I saw the theme for this contest, I knew who would be best to draw. These kinds of contests help with drawing, due to the detail to put in. I'm quite happy with this piece myself

Yeah it definitely will be! I honestly wish I could give everyone first place, since I know how much thought and effort goes into a contest entry, but I'm glad I got the chibi headshots for everyone, since everyone deserves something
