The apposition of the texture made by muscle and bone (back/ribs, feet/ankles), the parallel lines generated through out (most dynamic top of right hand following through to the top of left foot * note also the clutching of the hand and the 'gripping' of the foot), and the movement of the form of the body aligning with the direction of the lighting make this a very well balanced photograph. Conventionally balance is sought through symmetry, however, this photograph achieves balance through more dynamic means. It's only when the photograph is seen holistically that all the strings are pulled with even tension. And all of this having been made absent a limb from the model! Excellent use of the human form, and excellent composure by the model who confirms to the audience that there is an ease to be found in taunt balance.

When I look at this photograph I can say it flows from right to left, even though her thighs are the largest and most brilliant part of the whole composition. I like the hard tension on both feet, almost as if they were harder than the floor itself. I can then only keep going left across her legs, which seem to be longer because of the horizontal format and then fall to her belly and breasts. The tension appears here again, the light and the modelΒ΄s muscles create a pleasant view of the female form. Finally I get to the upper part, which I think is very complex in details: the arm framing the modelΒ΄s face and the "messy" hair. The only detail contrasting with the dramatic light, pose and composition is the relaxed modelΒ΄s face, with her eyes closed. Great job!
