I normally wouldn't post an image of myself on the internet, but in this case I felt compelled to. Had I not, I feel it'd be a betrayal not only of my kind and our allies but also of the memories of those I've lost to hatred and bigotry. You'll never be forgotten!

Good message, wish I'd had that advice when I was young. Took me 20 years to sort of love myself as I am and not get depressed about what I wasn't!

Thank you, though I cannot take full credit for it.
While the photo is of me, it's just a basic Photoshop filter applied to give it the color shift. It was created as a part of last year's national coming out day festivities.
As for the message and my ability to accept myself as I am, as young as I was when I did (Seventeen), I wont take full credit for that either. That goes to my parents, who raised me without the influence of their own religious beliefs or notions of who/what I should be.
As my father once put it, "I may have helped create them, but it's not my place to neither decide what they should believe in, nor who they should be. My job is to care for and love them." It was a sentiment my mother also wholly embraced and I'm the better for it, so cheers to them! Rest their souls.
