Killing several birds with one stone on this one... an entry for the Shoujo-ai-to-Yuri summer contest, a thank you drawing for Kimworld who drew something awesome for me ([link] ), a sign that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth for my poor fans, and a stress relieving outlet of my kigo fandom. As I said, several birds ^^This took about... 6 hours? Corel Painter Essentials 4 as usual.

I like how your art style and the colors compliments the scene it helps with the laid back/relaxed feeling of the drawing as a whole. Makes me wanna go lay down in the sun.

This is such a great picture! So much better than the poor, quick, silly sketch I gave you for which you produced something of true elegance and beauty in return. I feel like the person at a holiday party who gives a small, cheap bauble and receives something of grand value in return.

I do draw fast. I have to so that I can put up a board at school every morning.
You know, most substitute teachers just have to run through the plans, get the materials, make sure everything's working and in place. I've got to do that PLUS think up a funny board and draw it. That's why I train for speed and accuracy.

Thank you for the kind words. You know, I'm even a little inspired by all the stuff I've done. All the painting, and painting the truck, and about 10,000 drawings in two years (did you see the pictures of that stack?) This is it:

And this is me standing beside it. (It's on a desk, not on the floor. The stack is about three feet tall.) (incidentally, you can see I have no affect--what psychologist's call the expression of emotion on the face).

Most importantly is that after 18 years of being a drunk, I quit drinking and started drawing obsessively instead. I haven't had a drink in years.
I'm glad it gives you faith--as long as faith means some kind of warm and fuzzy intangible belief in what people are capable of. Please do not get any faith in god or gods from me. That would anger me. I despise religion and believe it had caused a million times more bad than any shred of good it might have done. I despise all religions in general, but christianity in particular. I find christianity a repulsive religion of intolerance and arrogance.

I was not referring to religious faith. I think that religion has its good points, and has been what many people need to hold themselves together in hard times. That does not mean that it is what I need though. I would have to say the thing I hate most about it is either people claiming their actions as the will of god or the solid hate of so-called "unnatural affection" that the bible produces.
