I'm so glad you noticed the white strokes! When the idea for this drawing popped into my head, the translucent freezing wind was definitely part of it, and I was really hoping it came through <3 Appreciative as always for your eagle eye!!
As for the emotion - I love these two so much! I was going for "all we have left in the world is each other"

It works! those diagonal white strokes really unify the whole composition, and give such a sense of fluid motion!
Since you mentioned eagles... those bird motifs on Turgon's clothes are lovely!
