I like Sebastian Rulli myself. I admire his anatomy. Its a bit of disappoinment that you said that you didnt knew were was he from but still you drew him and that you copy a fotograph althoug its a great one but thank you for being honest. next time try to be original. You seem to have alot of talent that not everybody have but they still try. Keep up your good work and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Impressive! I really like the rich skin tones, and those lips. Those massive, shiny lips. Spiffy clothing patterns, as well.

ah, i see. thank you. no one's been able to tell where he's really from or who he is exactly. just saw a shot of him somewhere and thought, that's a really beautiful creature.

You're welcome
I first saw him in a soap-opera called "Contra Viento y Marea" that has just ended here in Estonia and I was thinking exactly the same thing: "Well, that's a beautiful creature"

Wow. Sorry I'm new to this type of art. How do you do it? Do you start with a picture first or what? Cause its stunning and hot!

I'm ... absolutely speechless...! I thought this was a *photo* when I saw the zoomed-out version! Simply amazing!
Keeping up my tradition of always saying something constructive was difficult with this piece, since at first, all I could do was spout fangirl-babble... But there is one small issue: his nipple looks a little cartoony -- but I only noticed this after consciously scrutinizing the whole piece in an effort to find something that looked even slightly off.
He may not be exactly my kind of sexy, but damn, that's an awesome picture!

thanks very much. probably the only reason i could give you about the cartoony parts in the piece is that i don't like my pieces to look too real. i want them to have even a little bit of that "cartoony" effect. but i'm really very glad you pointed that out. i really appreciate comments like yours, though the short bursts of comments i constantly get are great joys for me to read as well.

You're very welcome -- and about the "cartoony" bits, I can see what you mean. There's not much point in photo-realism, is there? I mean, you could just scan in the picture of the guy, and there ya go, eh?

mellytwo8 In reply to ancret [2005-11-30 08:25:53 +0000 UTC]
i'm not sure what you mean but of course there's a point in it. it's to capture the beauty of something or someone. you can always tell anyway if it's just a scan of the person or not. it takes great patience and skill to make a portrait of someone that's why i admire realism artists very much and that's why i'm doing some pieces of my own under their influence. it's just that with me, i want the portrait to have a bit of my style, hence, the cartoony parts, the change in background, skin and eye color, color tones, etc.

thank you. i didn't want to make it too real. of course resemblance is very important to me but i always want it to come out in a way that you can tell it's still a painting.
