CHRISTMAS TREE PROJECT 2023
OMG!!! I'm so glad that this is FINALLY DONE. I thought it was done a few days ago but things just didn't balance out on the trees on the sides and I tried to make the number of ornaments the same on each of the trees on both sides. Anyway, I'm sorry for the delay. I had planned for this to be released on Christmas Day but I had to redo this many many times due to imbalance and also making a few mistakes in the beginning when I first laid out the ornaments. Plus, I was also participating in Critmas , which I'm on Team Gingerbread, Snowball Fest , which I ranked 16th, and the Secret-Santa-Network's 2023 Secret Santa Project , which I'm thankful to have been granted an extension. So I had a very busy schedule along with Christmas shopping, celebrating Christmas with my family, and working part-time.

There are 65 ornaments in total. A few ornaments had to be rejected due to multiple submissions by the same person and one of the rules is one submission per person. Maybe if I host this again in the future, I might omit that rule. I had 225 submissions in the #ChristmasTreeProject2020 and I didn't have as many submissions this time around so a few more ornaments would have been nice. Anyway, a large number of submissions were also rejected due to using AI technology/DreamUp or NSFW/Nudity. Those were against the rules. There was also an influx of submissions because somehow the hashtag #ChristmasTreeProject2023 was the Daily Challenge for December 13th. Before this, I never even knew there were Daily Challenges . It was great for DA to help me promote this but I think promoting it as a Daily Challenge wasn't the best idea because 80-90% of people were breaking the rules.

There also seemed to be a glitch and over 10 submissions lost the hashtag. Someone had messaged me about why their submission wasn't included anymore and after I investigated, that was my conclusion. Luckily from my browser history, I had the links and messaged each individual to edit their deviation and put the hashtag back in but not everyone did that so sadly some of those submissions were lost. As per the rule, if your submission didn't include the hashtag, it would not be included in the final result. Plus, most of them were just submitted for the Daily Challenge and broke the rules anyway so not much loss if they were included or not.

The deadline was December 17th but a few people were late and wanted to contribute to this project anyway so I told them that they had until December 24th to get their submission in. I was delayed with this anyway so I decided to include them and I'm glad I did. Anything submitted after December 25th though would not be included.

Lastly, the ornaments were added using Adobe Photoshop and the background and the trees were made in Canva , using free Elements. I did not pay or take a free Canva trial. I hope everyone enjoys this masterpiece and I'm so glad it's finished at last.
