Lovely peice! Im glad that people can think a little deeper than drawing a happy, sad, and normal face portraying something like multiple personality disorder. And you have done this beautifully. The colors the compostition, everything is lovely.

evanescingintonight [2005-06-12 04:36:19 +0000 UTC]

All of the colors in this one remind me a bit of this children's book, "A bad case of the Stripes" or something rather, very vibrant and such. Again, i'm loving the trees, but this in particular is an excellent way to show the dissorder. These are brilliant concepts, really

Oh my goodness. I... goodness gracious, words escape me. Psychology fascinates me. Quite brilliant, I wonder if this is how a D.I.D. patient actually feels. Wonderful portrayal! I really like your style.

Thanks. The Coleman Brothers do good work. Not really an influence though.

You're right... the work they do is great. I didn't mean for my statement to offend you in anyway so i hope it did.... you know sticks and stones. Anyway I guess as an artist anything that goes through our minds has to effect us some how. So no matter if they are a direct influence or not, just knowing of them influences your work, maybe your life.

melocopter In reply to Klamidia [2005-05-17 14:20:50 +0000 UTC]

Not offended in any way at all! Contemporary illustration is all kind of intertwined stylistically I guess, so I think you're probably right that I can't really dismiss their influence. I'm big into Mark Ryden, Joe Sorren, Rafal Olbinski etc. who are main influences, along with Dutch renaissance art.

Awesome, I Really enjoy Mark Ryden and now that you mention it... I could see an influence. As far as the Dutch painters go, I've always been amazed by there still lifes.
