Today had been such a long day…

Alaine looked up at the night sky, now dotted with bright stars. The clouds were weak, foggy…it gave the blue color a lovely shining color. Along with the spotlights coming from the fair, it was a real sight to see. Colors were now coming from everywhere since the sun had gone down and the Staryu had just parted ways with Jame. The two had accompanied each other in the Tunnel of Love. It was nothing romantic at all, just two friends…and a bit of playing around. She couldn’t count the times they pointed out the flaws of the ride or the number of times she’d splashed him in the face.

Her blue opals were heavy with her exhaustion. She was about ready to go home, but something caught her eye. Elliot and Scarlet were talking on a bench together. Arlier, she’d gone into the haunted house with them…though for Scarlet, she was lucky she wasn’t scared of anything there. Alaine had nearly jumped out of her skin 3 or 4 times. Maybe more. For a second, she felt an ache in her chest and tried to shake it off. Eyes turned to the ferris wheel. How long had that been there? ….Ah well, it was the only thing she hadn’t ridden yet. Might as well. She slowly slid in line. She could also see Dimi and Skully standing in line, though she wasn’t very familiar with either of them. None of the people in line seemed to be alone like she was. She just wanted to see the skies from the top of the ferris wheel…

Her turn finally came a few moments later and she climbed into the makeshift pokeball and took a seat on the plush red seat. As the door closed, she looked out the small window, waiting for the ride to move. Once it had, she rose higher and higher, stopping a few times for other people to get on the other pokeball gondolas. What was she doing…? She shouldn’t be on a ferris wheel by herself…maybe she should have asked Jame…or Elliot.

Quickly, she shook her head. It was painfully clear Elliot liked Scarlet. Besides, she didn’t like Elliot that way…

The wheel moved again and she found herself at the very top and frozen there in time for a while. As she looked down, she noticed all the bright lights again…they were like rainbow fireflies…amazing. If only she could have seen this with…NO. She pressed her back against the seat and took a deep breath. Her heart seemed to be racing in her chest. “…You’re just some guy…” She murmured to herself, her voice low and shaky. But the mere thought of him was just making her heart race more. “…Elliot.”

She bit her lip and looked out the window again. At that moment, she saw something that seemed rare to her…three butterflies flew by her, a stream of gold in their path. Her stomach lurched as she watched them flutter by and for the briefest second, she saw the familiar face in the reflection of the glass. At that instant, tears rolled down her cheeks. No way…

“What I feel…is in my head…it isn’t real…” She murmured again, squinting her eyes closed. Dear God, she wanted down now. Covering her face, she tried to rid her tears, then pressed her hands in her lap, her lips trembling. The stream of gold left behind, the reflection disappeared, she came to the realization and lowered her head.

“I’m sorry…I’m so sorry…”

Basically, Alaine tries to deny the fact she likes Elliot, but these queasy feelings she keeps getting when she thinks about it makes it clear to her. But she knows that she’s not heartless enough to take someone away from the other that likes them. So she keeps denying it. But she knows when she gets to the top of the ferris wheel and sees Elliot’s face, that she no longer can deny it. But she begins to cry because she doesn’t know if she should be true to her feelings or keep it to herself and try to move on.

I went for symbolism rather than romanticism |D And since Pai got her drawing out first, I was like dskfhjdsgfkgdfkjs it looks like mine So I tried to make it a bit different.
