Erwin Smith is a strong man, many admired him, commander of the Survey Corps, women wanted to be with him, but his heart went to someone else, his beloved wife _____.

You was an adored woman, a strong woman, men tried to woo you, to court you, but you weren't interested in that at all, you wanted a man who was a gentleman, who was kind yet strong.

And well. Erwin ticked those boxes, it first started with innocent stares, he managed to gather the courage to start a conversation with the (h/c) haired woman, you were polite and spoke calmly, your (e/c) eyes were sparkling with life, a soft smile on your lips.

Eventually, after a few weeks of conversation he admitted what he felt about you and to his surprise, you returned the feelings with a blush on your cheeks.

So you both began dating once you both confessed, you became the envy of women and he became the envy of men, a couple of years after dating you both married.

And now, two years after your marriage with Erwin, you were expecting with your first child which was due any day.

He was slightly nervous to being a father for the first time, but he knew he wouldn't be experiencing pain, his wife would be, he read pregnancy can be painful for a woman, especially for their first time.

In their room was a crib where the baby would be sleeping, the gender was unknown, they decided to keep it a surprise.

Another part of the pregnancy was the mood swings, one minute you would be smiling the next crying your eyes out and then got angry for an unknown reason, he got used to it.

And then there was the cravings, ah yes, the cravings, the cravings Levi would question and then get glared down at by a pregnant woman, in which he returned the glare.

Erwin lifted his head to hear the door open and his wife's form enter the room. Your hand was gently resting on the swollen tummy. You looked exhausted and tired, but then again you've been restless, so has the baby, the little baby was getting restless. He stood up from his chair and approached you.

“Come here.” He mumbled softly to you.

You approached him and his arms wrapped around your form, being careful with the extra baggage. You sighed but said nothing else.

“It's very tiring isn't it?” He asked you.

You huffed. “Damn right, you're not the one carrying a baby about.”

He smiled slightly, he was used to your mood swings now. You sighed in his embrace, continued to be held in his arms, you enjoyed it, it was very comforting.

“I hope the baby is born soon.” You mumbled softly.

Erwin hummed but said nothing at all and continued to hold onto his wife.

That afternoon the next day he didn't see you at all, you would normally visit him and you both would have their afternoon cuddles, but you were nowhere to be seen.

Deciding to find you. Erwin left his office in search for you.

Footsteps were heard as a young cadet approached the blonde, huffing and puffing as he tried to get air into his lungs.

“Co-Commander.” The cadet wheezed as he eventually reached the blonde.

“What is it cadet?” He asked.

“Ah well...It's your wife, sh-she's in the infirmary, she's having the baby.”

Blue eyes widened as the blonde quickly left and immediately headed to the infirmary to find his wife who was currently giving birth to their first child.

Reaching the infirmary, the pained screams reached his ears. Levi let out a grunt as he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.

“Looks like the little brat finally decided to appear.” He commented.

Erwin ignored the comment from the raven haired man completely as the screams continued.

“Is she finally having the baby!?” Hanji asked in excitement as she approached the two.

“What do you think shitty glasses?” Levi asked, glaring at the brunette. “Isn't the pained screams not enough of an answer to you?”

She ignored him completely. “I wonder who the baby will look like?”

“We'll find out when the brat is born.”

Erwin shook his head slightly but looked at the door where you were giving birth.

Two hours had passed and you were still giving birth. Levi had left a while back to torment some cadets. Hanji also left to check on her 'babies', in other word. Sawney and Bean, which left the commander on his own, hearing your pained cries wanted him to break through the door to ease your pain.

He paused as the screaming stopped. He looked at the door, were you ok?

The door opened revealing a nurse, her look was blank before it softened, a smile on her lips.

“Commander.” She greeted. “Would you like to see them?”

He said nothing as the nurse stepped aside to allow him in.

There you were, laying on the bed with your back against the pillow, holding a bundle wrapped in pink blankets against your chest. You looked exhausted, then again, you did push out a baby. Erwin silently approached to not startle the cooing infant. You looked at him with a tired smile.

He glanced to the little blonde baby with (e/c) orbs.

“Do you want to hold her?” You asked quietly.

Erwin carefully took her out of your arms. You smiled as she cooed to her father, grasping a finger.

“What should we name her?”

You began to ponder as an idea came to mind. “Dawn.” You mumbled.

You smiled and leaned back into the pillows, utterly exhausted. You closed your eyes with a smile on your lips. Erwin continued to hold his newborn daughter, mirroring that smile, how can he not?

He heard a commotion outside on the other side of the door. He walked over and opened the door while he held the bundle in the other arm, once the door opened he placed the other arm on Dawn.

“Ah!” Hanji squealed. “She's so cute!”

Instead of being startled. Dawn merely tilted her head.

“Knock it off four eyes, you're freaking the brat out.” Levi told her.

“But shorty! She's so adorable!”

Steel blue eyes glanced to (e/c) orbs, the little baby gurgled and then cooed.

“See! She likes you!” Hanji told him, patting him on the back.

Levi shot her a cold glare but then glanced back to the small girl in Erwin's arms.

“Aww~ looks like we found a future babysitter.” Came your tired voice.

The raven haired man glared at you. “Not a chance.”

You pouted but said nothing at all. You smiled as you heard your little baby gurgle and coo. You leaned back into the pillow more and closed your eyes.

After you had enough rest after giving birth, you were allowed to leave with your baby. You walked down the hall with your husband who was carrying the sleeping baby.

“I can't imagine Levi being babysitter.” Erwin commented.

You giggled. “It was worth a shot.”

He hummed but said nothing else and only brought you closer to him. You smiled and said nothing at all, the small family carried on their journey back to the Commander's office, to their room. Dawn shifted in her father's arms but continued to sleep.

Eventually the office door came into sight. You ran your fingers through your fringe and fought back the yawn that wanted to escape. You opened the door since Erwin had his arms full with the newborn. You walked through first and allowed him through, closing the door after him and locking it so nobody would disturb. You yawned and then followed the blonde to the bedroom, it was now evening, you simply had some bread and a drink since you were more tired than hungry. You followed him into the bedroom and sat next to him on the bed.

“She's so small.” He commented.

You smiled. “She'll grow.”

Erwin looked at you. “Any special reason for her name?”

You smiled again. “She's named after my grandmother.”

He fought back the winch, you had witnessed the brutal death of your grandmother at the hands of a Titan, and after all, you promised to name your baby daughter after your grandmother.

“I see.”

You both watched as she crinkled her tiny nose and opened her eyes to reveal her mother's eyes. She let out a tiny yawn as you held back the urge to squeal. She closed her eyes and went back into a sleep. You smiled and leaned against Erwin and closed your eyes. You opened and watched as he shifted to lay on the bed, placing Dawn in the middle.

You took your boots off and crawled until you were on the other side and then laid on your stomach. You smiled and closed your eyes, the blonde commander gently rubbed the little baby's cheek. He glanced to you and smiled to see you had fallen asleep. He leaned over and gently kissed you. Picking up Dawn he got up and placed her in the crib before going back to the bed. He crawled over and brought you to him more. You smiled and snuggled into him.

Everything was peaceful, you both enjoyed the peace while it lasted.
