Well, this is supposed to be my new ID. Well that's what I started it as but I dunno...I've been painting on this on and off (mostly off) for a couple of months and I still don't consider it 100% done, but I'm done for now. The hair was a killer but I guess it turned out okayish.
Painted entirely in Corel Painter X with a wacom Bamboo Fun.

Oh, thank you. Not really, well I've been doing photography for a few years but I still felt the need to go more the "painting, illustration" route. I really enjoy what I'm doing now and i feel that I'm getting closer and closer to my goal.

The hair took me about 5 hours or so. I'll never understand people that think painting hair is the most fun part of the whole process...

Yeah me too, creepy is the new beauty...that's more of what I've been doing but I haven't finished anything in a while.
I do enjoy the end result of hair after putting in lots of time and effort on detail...but you're right, it is labouring! haha perhaps it will become second nature after a while.

The hair turned out amazing and the whole concept is just really unique looking and beautiful. Seriously I love all your other stuff but this is my definite favorite so far. Just incredible. What gave you the idea for it? Or was it just one of those spur of the moment images that popped in your head?

Yes, it's one of those "popped into my head" paintings, like new directions. I originally had much more elaborate plans with lots of things in her hair, but it started to take so much time. >_<
I had a couple of thoughts I wanted to try. I wanted to paint metal and I wanted to paint something honeycomb shaped so I combined those two for the background. And I wanted to paint something that was both creepy and beautiful.
