This makes me thing of how much we were all robbed by the lack of a f/f cassandra romance (?)
I really like how you captured her though, she looks very elegant!

Thank you and I totally understand why people are hummed about that. There are pretty few f/f romance options in Inquisition sadly. well, two. As in all Dragon Age games but still.

Yea, I ended up romancing Sera and I really love her character too, but there was something about how they waited until the last minute to reveal which romances where avaible for what players that rubbed me the wrong way. I get the wainting to keep the mystery for the game but also getting rejected by a videogame character is a bit much

yes, the rejection thing was so weird. They didn't have that in the previous games. when I talked to Cassandra in my first playthrough and saw the flirt option I was so hyped and then after you reach skyhold she just tells you she's not interested in women and I was like 'great now I gotta reload to evade this rejection' because I felt so awkward Sera wasn't for me though. She's a great character and I love how she contrasts the very heavy dalish/ancient elves focus of the game but I couldn't get myself to romance her.

Also I just realised that Leliana was the only f/f romance option in Origins so I gotta correct that!

Yep, Sera definitely isn't everyone's cup of tea for sure (plus even if I love her I have to admit her writing is a bit atrocious at times), but I liked playing a dalish elf with a rogue city elf gf so (?)
And I'm hoping they remove the "prolonged periods of flirting before being set aside for a rejection talk" for the next game at least lol. But in terms of representation, at least we got the first lesbian and gay companions/squadmates while mass effect still needs to catch up on that (I heard the content for Gil and Suvie was quite sad on Andromeda)

Sadly that applies for a lot of video games but I'd like to think that we are slowly (very slowly) getting there. It's still a long way but here's to hope.
Unfortunately I haven't played Mass Effect yet, eventhough the first three games sit in my shelf so I can't really offer an opinion on that. The rejection thing is weird but kind of realistic I think. While I am not a fan of it it makes sense that you can flirt with the characters and they tell you wether they're into it or not. It gives the game and the character interaction a bit more depth but that's just my impression.

Yea, I'm not really against the rejection as it does act realism but it would be better if they didn't let the player character flirt for up to 5+ of content just to get rejected then, that's sort of weird in my opinion haha. I do recommend the first three mass effect games though, but I would skip Andromeda if you're not really good at dealing with disappointments (there was some characters I liked on the games and some ejoyable moments, but it definitely let me down).

I'll keep that in mind, thanks yeah, the time they took up to the rejection is too long considering you miss the flirt options with the other romancable characters that you could be with.

Yea, but I still really like that game overall, even if I know a lot of people that bash it as not being fun enough (granted, I still have nightmares about being lost on the Hinterlands )

oh god, don't get me started on the Hinterlands whenever I start a new playthrough this part tests my patience to the point I just want to bash my head through the screen. It really is too long.
At the same time I felt that the Emerald Graves were too short. It is such a beautiful area and there was so little to do. But all in all I think the game is pretty good.Β

The emerald graves were one of my favorite places to explore, so same! The only things I liked on the Hinterlands where that I got to recruit Blackwall and some of the main missions lol, but that endless list of sidequests was a real pain, especially bc I always have to play completionist playthroughs lol

god, that sounds tiring but yeah, I usually try to complete all side quests as well but only so they disappear from the quest journal. Especially the ones that repeat over and over again i.e. the healer at the Crossroads you have to collect herbs for. Those are the worst.Β It would have been sufficient with only half the quests though. The one I always got stuck at was the one where you had to run circles around some pillar to summon a spirit. Once I managed that after nearly an hour trying. I was so frustrated.

I used a lot of guides for most of the sidequests bc I have a shitty memory to begin with, but even following them it was still tedious to go through. There were a couple ones I liked, like the demon goat on the Hinterlands, but most of them were just about going somewhere, killing a couple foes and reading a boring letter with minimal story when I was done lol

the demon goat was funny enough. the one quest with escorting the druffalo back to the farm has me shivering though. otherwise it was pretty borning yeah.

OMG! I had forgotten the druffalo one but I remember getting him killed by demons once, poor thing. And the breach close to the farm was also like a level 20+ so it was always a pain to cross that damn lake lol

I still don't understand why they put that fucking rift right there except to just scare the crap out of the players and get us comfortable with dying. Same with the dragons.

candemarzat In reply to memo--ry [2017-11-01 13:40:26 +0000 UTC]

The dragons were pretty much my only encouragement to level up, since they're just death machines if you try to fight them before lol. That quest where I had to kill all of them was one of the most annoying ones, even if it was optional. Plus thei loot they dropped was shit tbh

the only dragons I managed to kill till now were the one in the Hinterlands and in Crestwood. I haven't dared to try the others yet

I completed the dragon slayer quest a couple times but it's usually the last thing I do before Trespasser, since it takes a lot of time to be on the right level not to get crushed immediately haha

maybe I'll manage that someday as well xD presently I am almost done with Jaws of Hakkon. but since I have little time for video games at the moment it will proberbly take some time till I will be able to finish it.
