Description
Another night drive, a few years laterTears wrapped around the post she just missed
She’s flying at 100 miles per hour
She’ll forget it all, she’ll forget him
Another song plays on the radio
Don’t tell me, the same lyrics
Just a different rotation
Just the same de-fragmentation
Of a mind that slowly has been fading away
And so she’ll say
It’s just another/ Always another
This one’s wrapped round my fingers
But I can’t breathe when I’m left here
Can’t stand when I’m walking and
I don’t know how and don’t know why
All I want to find
Is something that isn’t another
Compromise
No more sad time lullaby’s
Another night drive, a few years later
Hair swept in a different kind of form
She’s falling faster as she slips away
She’s wondering why she’s never been kept safe
Another song plays on the radio
Different lyrics, same old song and tune
Just a different night sky
Just a different person sharing the drive
Watching that same old look creep into her eyes
And again, she’ll say
It’s just another/ Always another
This one’s wrapped round my fingers
But I can’t breathe when I’m left here
Can’t stand when I’m walking and
I don’t know how and don’t know why
All I want to find
Is something that isn’t another
Compromise
No more sad time lullaby’s
She’s driving so quickly
The tears streaming down
Screaming and crying
But no one’s around
He said he’d never break her heart
But he did, ripped it apart
And she can’t take much more of this
Another liar’s kiss
Another night of this…
Listening to everything she’ll never be
And all the scenery that she’ll never see
She just can’t be what you’ll never need
I wonder if you ever saw her?
Did you take the time to really want her?
If she drives fast enough, then she’ll escape
But what is escape without an ending place-
Her results are to turn back around and run
To the only thing that she knows-
The lonely home
But at least now she has some peace of mind
And all alone, it is her,
You won’t ever find.
And this was her last
Sad time lullaby.
