I wash my hands of this weirdness.I'm a big fan of the Pirates movies, believe it or not. I really think they are the modern equivalent of the Indiana Jones, Star Wars, or Back to the Future trilogies, in that they will be around and popular forever more.
I've been meaning to draw Jack Sparrow for a while, and when I saw some pics of Johnny Depp in the new film, I decided to give it a go. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out, esp. his costume, which is actually very complex when you study a photo
Also this is the "new" Jack Sparrow, without the coin in his forehead dread.I am interested in comments on the b/g on this. I did two versions of this pic; the other was a on simple stock photo of the beach. I'm still not sure I posted the one I prefer.

I really like the background - it's very treasure hunt themed which is what Jack Sparrow's all about!
