Why is the Indian rhino just considered "vulnerable" even when though their population is lower then the Black rhino which is considered "critically endangered"?

I hope poachers pay with their lives for the crimes they commit.

Thanks for the info! I HATE poachers. They're so selfish. I'm glad though that many CR animals are being introduced back the wild with their numbers rising.

Apart from the several spelling mistakes, this is very good. Quite informative.

yeah I know sorry about that guys, I have terrible grammar and I am hyper dyslexic, and doing this by myself sometimes does not produce the best outcome but thank you will try to be more careful

It is sad and since I am doing this in my own time well it gets harder and harder. and sadder and sadder. I think most people do not realize what is happening globally with the species..
thank you

Wow, lots of stuff I didn't know here. Like how they're related to horses! =O And that there are rhinos in Asia. Although that makes sense, since there are elephants in both Africa and Asia.
It's hard to believe White Rhinos were once on the verge of extinction, cuz they look so powerful, especially compared to the others. I'm glad they're doing better now.
Great art too!

I never quite understood why black rhinos are considered critically endangered, despite being twice as numerous as the Indian ones.
These guys would be going extinct eventually anyway, their lineage is far past their glory, but we shouldn't be speeding that up.

I get your point but sharks have been here like 400 million years I think, that is a loooooooooooong time my friend. gators and many animals have made it though, the fact that we can still see them is amazing and we should be able to protect them more.
If something goes extinct I think it should by other means, I agree with you.

Yeah, but perissodactyls as a whole are on a step decline; they used to be FAR more diverse that what they are now (3 families, 6 genera and 16 species), and it shows than ruminants have been outpacing them. We no longer have brontotheres, chalicotheres or hyracodonts, their niches have been taken by more efficient ruminants. I'm sure they'd end up vanishing in a short time, geologically speaking.
Same with Crocodilians, 24 species quite limited in body plan is a bit of a bottleneck for the clade that once managed to outcompete theropod dinosaurs.
In any case, that's how evolution works. Odd-toed ungulates are 16 species, while even-toed are some hundred and have even conquered the seas, having the largest animal ever in their ranks. When pre-crocs and pre-dinosaurs split, the former ruled, but at the end dinosaurs prevailed and prevail, even if the modern ones are quite limited in terms of body plan.
Still, we can protect them from ourselves. We should be able to protect them from ourselves, let their eventual death be of natural causes.

I agree with you all the way my man. But I think there is a big difference between us over-exploiting things for stupid reasons and species disappearing through a natural environment that did not fit them anymore. Us finishing species off does not count as evolution of the species. Yes I agree with you 100% it should be from natural causes. but just look at the numbers out there. we have sped up so many extinctions, maybe, maybe some where coming to them I do not know, but that vast number of animals dissapearing at the rate that they are just proives that we are messing things up in a ver bad way. Thank you, I really like you comment

Magnificent grafic, is an excellent and elegant design. Have you tried to contact environmental organizations, or even National Geographic? I imagine they would be interested in print it as posters.
Saddly, rhinos are side victims of the political problems in Africa. With the chaos resulting from the guerrillas, there's no how to control illegal hunting or traffickers. Even worse, guerrillla members often kill elephants and rhinos either to trade in ivory, or even for pleasure. Sick motherfuckers. Dictators are also a problem because they allow hunting, or they hinder the work of conservationists. It's all political bullshit.

Well national Geographic has a giant team dedicated to graphics only so I dont think they would go for it. but I did write to a WWF there are so many I think the main, and have notheard anything, I am workign with WWF in china and hopefully we will be able to do great things together i ams till working on the proposals.
Yeah, too much fighting going on over there That is why the Gorillas are also in peril, besides the ebola an the clear cutting. it's people moving in and killing them to eat their meat. steal the baies and sell them.
Thank you so muc for your encouragement. Traffic.org will use them and also another rhino site from the US that is one of the best I have seen. so that is good to me they can spread the word much better than little me.

Thanks man I learn myself doing these and so I eed to figure out ways to make very simple. Sometimes data that simple gets lots in a bunch of text. this way is easier to see and understand.
thank you
