Description
Another commission for Ryan ( ). This guy's a fantasy dwarf, but he doesn't have a name yet. This was a rather large project to do. All the items on his body had to be arranged and sized very carefully so that they don't overlap wrong in any combination. Essentially the image is modular, similar in principle to paperdolls, but more complex, since the items are shaded and also drop shadows over other objects, all of which were also on separate layers.
I'm showing 4 of the 7 gear sets for the character. Apart from different item combinations, there is also a buttoned version of the green robe, that goes underneath the belt, but its design's otherwise the same.
They're suitable for different classes because Ryan wanted to be able to use him in multiple settings and provided a lot of specific items for the purpose.

Bet the guy with the shako enjoys some mighty stats like those on Harlequin's crest's. I assume if somehow Blizzard north would have been able to see this before, there might have been a mage dwarf class in Diablo!
BTW Awesome work with so much detail!

Let's be realistic here, one of the main features of Diablo as a fantasy setting is that player characters are human.
But thanks!

I always have Digging a Hole playing in my head when I see your dwarf lineups XDD Once again a fantastic job, your art truly belongs in art books, I hope one day one of the big tabletop companies contacts you for illustrating :3
Oh and of course I need to say that the cold hues of green and blue create an awesome combo with that red beard! <3

Aw thanks! The commissioner chose most of the colors, he likes to put a lot of thought into the details of his characters.

Thanks, but the majority of the details and colors were chosen by the owner of the character who commissioned the picture. He sent over a very large amount of pictures of items he wanted the character to have on him. I just tweaked some designs to fit them together and occasionally suggested something.

Heh Awesome work! The i think is the second to last. The last one has too much dwarfy detail and not to mention its not block enougt. The second one is cool looking range duder but never liked the leather cap.

Thanks for the comment and glad you like the picture! The details are how the commissioner wanted them to be. You're saying too detailed but I personally quite like the pauldrons of the last outfit...
