My first cosplay!!! Also, my Halloween costume. I am Lust, from Fullmetal Alchemist, one of my favorite manga/anime. I am going for the look portrayed in the comic and Brotherhood more than the original series. It's certainly not perfect, but I thoroughly enjoyed wearing this and working on it.
Details: The dress was bought at a vintage clothing store. It is black velvet. It was originally two sizes to big, had sleeves, and a slit in the back. Thankfully, my mother is a costumer. Took off the sleeves, took it in at the sides, sewed up the slit in the back, and put one in the side.
Short suede boots with black tights.
Black costume gloves. They originally had ruching, but we took that out. They were then painted with red fabric paint (I am so sorry there is not a better picture of the markings), with black detail done in permanent marking.
The "Freaky Fingers": Black craft pipe cleaners as the base, wrapped in coils around my fingers with a 3 inch bit coming off the coil. Straws wrapped in black electrical tape, which where then put on the part of the pipe cleaner sick out, and the base of the pipe cleaner wrapped in the electrical tape. These little contraptions were then put put into the fingers of the gloves, which by this time had small holes in the fingers, so the "freaky fingers" stuck out of the glove. Therefore I could simply slide my hand in the glove, and shove each finger in the contraptions in the fingers. Ta-Da! Terrible explanation, I know. I'm not good at explaining how I made things. Argh.
Bookoodles of makeup, and the ouroboros dragon was done in red lip stain, which worked great. And then the wig. Yay!
