I have always had a dream of going to Tokyo, standing in a large crowd and then pointing at the sky while acting terrified... I would then scream "Ahhhhhhh! Godirra!"...
That aside, I like your interpretation of him here. Much slimmer than usual, and nice color values.

personaly he looks nothing like the original japanese version, aside from the back plates. i was thinking that he looked more like the 1993 american version (they blew the budget on the cgi, not the script witing lol).

Yeah, very much more similar to 1993 version, but you've got a nicer differentiation between top scales and stomach ones... *shrugs* matter of preference.
And yes, that movie was beautiful and horridly written...

The proper (Japanese) name for the creature is simply Zilla, also known as the American Godzilla (it appeared in the eponymously named 1998 film that had an animated series spin-off from it).
