A few days ago I mentioned that my family's pet squirrel 'Colonel Clink' died, we found out the next day that the Colonel was a female, and a mother at that. Four babies slowly emerged from their nest in search for food, and damn they are cute.This is one of many photos I took of them. This little guy was the bravest of them. I sat and played with the for quite awhile. We released them deeper into the woods yesterday, they were all eating and were searching for food, so I think they'll be ok.

AAA!! My cute-o-meter is a jumpin' off the scale!!! These are the cutest little guys- a pair of squirrels in our yard had SEVEN babies about a month ago- they were sooo darling- and not cautious at all- I'm surprised a hawk didn't get them- there was even this fat house cat lurking around their munching area- (he had obviously never caught anything in his life...), but he didn't have any success . They're quite a bit bigger now than this lil' dude. I'm glad you were able to whisk them away to the woods- they will be just fine there

I'm surprised you had the strength to release them... but it's for the best. Nice capture here ... with the hand not only representing the difference in size but demonstrating the link between man and the wild beasts (although this little guy doesn't look too wild or beast-like).

eek! cuuuuuuute! a couple weeks ago my cat brought in a newborn bunny that was remarkably unscathed... we had to take it to a wildlife rehab place though... but that little squirrel... awww...
