Cool drawing, I have one question though - why is Fingolfin dressed in white?

For a contrast. Black(evil) Morgoth, and White(good, pure) Fingolfin. In my paintng I have bright ground, so white armour of Fingolfin could easily melt into it, so I chose another colors for him

then it is completely justified! my statement holds true - the picture is marvelous.

Awesome work. Nice conception of the scene. Always wanted to do this scene myself, but never got to it. Exceptional work.

hehe;], nope it was his choise. Fingolfin was a king of Noldors(elves) and Morgoth(the big guy) is the really bad guy;] I don't remmember well the whole story, if you're curious, read Tolkien's "Silmarillion". Very hard t oread, but contains a lot of great stories

I think this one's even better than the first one Morgoth looked great in the other one, which I also favorited, but here he looks more thick, burly and monstrous... Adds even more to sense of futility Fingolfin has fighting such a being

Bowie-Spawan In reply to Mentosik8 [2010-06-01 20:34:48 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I like your interpretation.
My mental image is very generic, with Fingolfin being the shining knight in a white armor and a blue cape XD
