Do you know a manga named "Fuan no Tane"? It's a series of very short stories (about 2-4 pages each) about supernatural beings.
I was inspired by this manga and decided to write my own, too. Its name is "Sounds from another world", a collection of ultra short stories about paranormal beings in my country, Vietnam. And "The sign" is also a part of that collection.

I read the whole thing, and while it was very short, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
