Description
So I went through a bit of an art block; I was spending hours on a painting and messing it up more than I was making progress. I finally forced myself to put it aside, and then I discovered the artist Marco Bucci and his videos on Youtube. Genius! I want to learn to use color like he does. So, this is a quick practice using a photo of my kitty. I could have put a lot more work into it, but I've learned all I can from it in terms of color and I want to move on. Thank you for being patient with me, guys; I really want to post more often, but I haven't been producing anything of much value lately.

the most I like the light behind and the soft shapes.

Lovely colors. The cat has a nice expression as well, especially in the eyes.
If you're looking for art tutorials and tips, Lachri Fine Art on Youtube is VERY helpful. She draws mostly animals and nature, so you might find a little inspiration too.

The colors are nice You could brighten the image a bit overall by increasing the contrast between the light and dark areas, since it looks a tad bit too dark on the left side. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! That's a good suggestion; I've been realizing lately that I've been making my images too dark or overly saturated lately; I need to stop myself from leaning that way.

You're welcome! And you can play around with the color balance in PS or whatever software you use. Sometimes it helps fix things up. I know getting colors right is so hard >_>
