Chapter One

It was years later, and, for what felt like the millionth time, he was standing outside those gates again. It was the Feburary 7th, and for 14-year-old Nick, that meant the first day of college. He took a deep breath and went in. Nick was quite tall, with dark-brown eyes. What was odd about him though, was his hair. It was white-blond, with black highlights. That was the reason why he was wearing a hat on this particular morning. He wanted to maintain some illusion on normalcy. That was, until he reached the classroom. As always, there was a group of kids that was hanging around, laughing and joking. What looked like the leader of the group, noticed him and jeered, "Well who's this? Some new kid probably. But why's he allowed to wear a hat inside?" The boy stole Nick's hat... and bolted.
