Description I DID NOT DRAW THIS! I DID NOT DRAW THIS! I DID NOT DRAW THIS!

All credit goes to Tcrakman (@Tcrakman) / Twitter  who has done excellent work of Draknor before.

This is a followup tale to 'Curse of Agratta' where we follow Draknor and Ylla in the aftermath of that tale, as you can see they're still wearing the outfits from that adventure. Yes, Ylla ditched her chestcloth but she really doesn't need one as she lacks breasts.

Yes giant spiders, but there's more to this tale than encountering giant spiders. But you'll just have to see. (spiders creep me out btw)

This artwork was inspired by a 90s videogame boxart: 207337-the-legendary-axe-turbografx-16-front-cover.png (800×803) (discordapp.com)
Legendary Axe on the TurboGrafX to be exact.

Draknor: The Web of Creeta PT4,Eight red eyes stared down the two dracoz, the eyes burning with a red, hellish light. The great terrible mandibles parted and a hiss - like quenching metal - roared from the great spider. Venom dripped to the floor as Creeta stalked towards its victims.“Keep back Ylla!” Draknor ordered.Creeta drew closer. Draknor bellowed a challenge and moved forward. The great spider reared up and let out a shrill shriek. Draknor struck, watched and skirted to the side as the massive spider came down to where he had once been, gouging a deep gash in the rock. Draknor slashed with his sword scoring a cut across one of the forelegs of the great beast.Creeta let out a shrill cry and turned, Draknor attempting to get under the beast but found himself knocked to the side as the mass of the spider slammed into him.Creeta skittered towards Draknor as he hit the hard stone floor, his sword falling from his grasp with a clatter. Creeta’s fangs raised, she hissed again - filling the whole cavern with a triumphant sound - eager to drive the poison into the fallen dracoz.Draknor grasped his sword ready to drive the blade into the spider’s maw, when Creeta checked her movement and shrieked. A spear was jutting from the thorax. Ylla screamed at first - not used to seeing such brutality. Through it all, though, she stepped forward, her eyes loving to see her male succeed.“Ylla, I told you to stay back!” Draknor shouted as he got to his feet.“I’m sorry!” Ylla called as she moved back.Draknor swung with all his might and cleaved a chunk out of one of Creeta’s back legs. The great spider screamed as green blood spilled over the cavern floor, her huge fangs dripping with bloodlust as she hissed and pivoted, despite the obvious injuries it kept moving forward, this time fixated on Ylla.Draknor struck again, this time cleaving the appendage completely. It fell away and twitched of its own accord. Cries of anguish rose from the observing spider people. That certainly got Creeta’s attention, drawing Creeta’s attention away from the dracoz. Anticipating the spider’s move, Draknor rolled as the creature turned and pounced. Getting to his feet Draknor grabbed Ylla by the wrist and pulled her along.Draknor took the advantage and grabbed Ylla’s hand, trying to avoid the beast’s attention.“We’re running away?” Ylla asked.“It’s too open here.”The spider people began to chant again, “CREETA! CREETA! CREETA!”“Not that again!” Ylla moaned. “Hurrr!” Draknor grumbled.Draknor led her down a tunnel, the rhythmic thumping of Creeta’s heavy legs close behind them. Despite their physical prowess, the two were breathing heavily. Hidden behind a large rock, they tried to hold their breath until the beast and her acolytes passed.Draknor held his hand gently across Ylla’s stomach. As a few of them passed, Ylla looked at her male, her breath slowing and slowing until she forgot - temporarily - about the danger they were in.Not too temporarily, however.THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP, the skittering of the great beast drew near. Draknor put his clawed hand on the hilt of his greatsword. Ylla looked at him with fear in her eyes that told him:Don’t go...His own tired eyes replied:...But I must.Dracoz did not sweat when they were nervous, as their bodies naturally conserved body heat. Instead, their scales flarer up - reducing the amount of underlying skin exposed.Draknor leapt from behind the rock as Creeta passed by. The dracoz drove his his sword into the pit where her leg had once been, eliciting a shriek of agony as Draknor twisted his blade before extracting it - sending viscera into the air and lava-red blood afterwards. Creeta scrambled in the tight confines of the tunnel moving along the wall to try and face Draknor, but the crafty dracoz had anticipated the move. Draknor rolled under the bulk of the spider to come out on the other side. With his clawed hand Draknor grabbed the shaft of the spear still jutting from the side where Ylla had jabbed it and wrenched it free, causing orange blood to ooze out. From where she had been clinging to the wall, Creeta pounced for Draknor. The Dracoz reacted crouching under and thrusting up with the spear. The polearm sunk into the thorax, the weight of the spider driving it further into itself. Draknor came up on the other side of Creeta and slashed into another leg. “I’ll take you piece by piece fiend!” Draknor roared.Creeta hissed venom spraying from her jaws. Draknor ducked and covered his head, the venom burned against his scales, but it was only fatal if it entered his bloodstream. It gave Creeta the time she needed to move though, and when Draknor looked up the great spider was gone. “She’s above you!” Ylla screeched from where she was taking cover.Draknor dropped flat on the floor as the spider pounced. The fangs sought his neck as the great bulk of the spider pushed him down against the floor. Draknor snarled as he held his blade in both hands, keeping the fangs from his neck as venom oozed from the terrible incisors. The dracoz strained as he did his best to hold back the fangs, one puncture and he would be dead in a matter of minutes. Snarling, Draknor glared at his hated foe. The spider acolytes had gathered in the tunnel, none seeking to interfere, all of them just staring - waiting. Draknor strained, if he could just get a bit more leverage. Draknor strained, his muscles protesting the strain they felt as he managed to free a leg from the girth of the spider, he roared and pushed against the giant spider, he knew he couldn’t hold back the spider for long but perhaps he would have enough time to make his desperate ploy.Draknor pushed and turned his swordblade as Creeta struck down, feeling the resistance gone. As the beast’s fangs began to descend Draknor stuck his sword up and through the jaws of his foe. The blade stuck through the top of the arachnid and Creeta let out a shriek that echoed throughout the caverns as Draknor twisted the hilt of his sword. Creeta shuddered and twitched uncontrollably as the dracoz scuttled away, taking his gore-slicked sword with him. Rising to his feet Draknor faced the spasming spider as it began to tuck in its limbs, venom and blood gushing from its jaws. The spider people looked on, their faces showed no emotion but their posture seemed to suggest shock as their progenitor ceased moving. Ylla peeked out from her rock. The spider people began to advance when Creeta began to twitch again.“Horns of the great ones!” Draknor exclaimed. “CREETA! CREETA! CREETA!” the spider people began to chant. “Dr-Draknor?” Ylla squeaked. Draknor’s tail lashed the air as he readied himself. But what happened next caught all by surprise. From Creeta’s body came over a dozen squeals as hatchling spiders began to pour out. They were the size of medium dogs already. Ylla screamed. Draknor sprinted away grabbing Ylla, the hungry babes fell on the spider people who wailed and began trying to defend themselves. “Keep moving!” Draknor shouted. Creeta’s spawn are not that intelligent, he thought, gritting his teeth, but it’s quantity at this point. The caverns were soon in chaos. More voracious children chittered after them in pursuit crawling on the walls. Spider guards moved to stop the pair, but quickly fell back as the arachnid onslaught fell upon them.Draknor cleaved through one of the spiders, but another was soon upon him. Ylla kept running, hoping her memory was good enough to guide them out. “Keep moving, Ylla!” Draknor shouted. “No matter what happens! I’m right behind you!” Ylla’s heart was pounding in her chest, how many brushes of death had she endured already? Draknor kept fighting and moving. Mercifully the light of the wastes beckoned to them ahead - usually not desirable, but the yellow hot light was welcome in their current circumstance. Never in all their long years did either think that would be the case. The two leapt into the bright light. A look back showed the spiders stopping at the entrance, born in the dark of the deep chasms they were not used to the sun and withdrew back to their more familiar surroundings. The two dracoz kept their flight and didn’t stop until they were far away from that accursed place.“Draknor!” Ylla said, struggling to breathe. “You saved me once again!” The female dracoz threw her arms around her savior. Draknor blinked before he slowly held her back. “Of course I did Ylla, I was not going to leave you to your fate. Now let’s look at your wounds,” Draknor said, squeezing her gently. After a short rest the two were on the move again. Ylla’s wounds were mostly superficial, meant to draw out the great beast, but Draknor was noticeably quiet. “You didn’t get bit, did you?” Ylla asked.“No,” Draknor replied. Ylla was quiet again. After a long silence Draknor spoke. “I think it best we part ways when we get to civilization.” Ylla halted: the words stopping her in her tracks. “What?” Draknor grunted and turned to face her. “I care too much for you. If you keep journeying with me, more harm will come to you. One day I won’t be able to save you.” Ylla gazed back at Draknor, for the first time since he met her she seemed angry. “Coming with you is my choice! I know the risks.” Draknor stalked towards her, “This is no time to try and prove something. You’re not meant for this. I can’t keep watching out for you - I can’t risk you dying! This life is a hard one, and any day could be our last. Do you truly want to live like that?”“Why do you choose it then?” Ylla fired back, obviously hurt.Draknor folded his arms and sighed. “I choose it to one day find a new home for us - for all dracoz. Not a place to repeat our mistakes, but to begin anew. This world we can no longer lord over but someday, somewhere, there might be a place for us again.” Ylla blinked. “I’m not sure such a place exists Draknor. This is what you truly quest for?”Draknor grunted his tail thumping the ground. “I know it sounds foolish. But it’s all I know.”“Why won’t you let me help you? I am a scholar.”“Exactly. You need to be somewhere safer than out with me. Then - maybe if I find what I seek - maybe we can try. But it's more likely I’ll perish on my fool's errand.”Ylla hung her head as Draknor slung his sword over the hip and made his way across the dunes. “This discussion is not over,” she said quietly before following him. “We’ll talk more about this.” As the sun set on the desert, the two dracoz formed a strange silhouette: one hulking and tired, and one smaller - racing to keep up.
