The announcement of a third Stargate series resulted in this.The Stargate for the original series, the water (from the SGA wallpapers) for Stargate Atlantis and the space (HERE ) for the new series Stargate Universe.

In the days when Hari Seldon calculated the probable future of his Foundation and set it on course to prosper. In the days when the HAL900 computer took orders from a higher power than the humans who constructed it. In the days when Captain James Kirk and his first officer, Spock boldly went were no man had gone before. I could talk for hours and hours about the greater days of science fiction, but the last pitiful remainder of those days is Stargate SG-1 Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Micheal Shanks, and Don S. Davis

Universe tanked because a majority of the Stargate fans hated the new series, so it only lasted for 2 seasons. SG-1 was the best out of the series and managed to survive for 10 seasons (it was originally going to stop after season 7, but it was so popular it lasted another 3). Atlantis wasn't as good as SG-1, but it was well liked enough to last for 5 seasons. Also, the creators are making some DVD movies for Atlantis and SG-1, but last I checked the same can't be said for Universe. A lot of Stargate fans thought is was bad (I happen to be one of those), but if you liked Universe I'm not going to criticize. I'm just explaining why it go canceled.

While audience opinion of SGU is a big part of why it failed, it's my opinion that network decisions on the behalf of Scifi (or should I say, Syfy 
Also, while I haven't done *too* much research into this, I've heard that with the canceling of SGU, MGM is selling off the Stargate sets and the upcoming, planned movies for SG-1 and Atlantis were put on indefinite hold. Quite disappointing...

so I have to be the nerd that points this out, it shouldn't have the symbol for earth. lol, I've caught even the tv show doing that. on sg1 when they go to bedrosia, the stargate being uncovered has the earth symbol. but this is a great picture, I love it.
