I usually use a watercolor block so the paper is glued down on the edges.

So amazing it is this piece, the starry sky on the bg, on her wings and on her outfits. Even some on her hair. Also some of the dots on her wings look like tears or drops of water...like something sad of the night. Maybe the sadness of the silence at night. Well at least in the past.
And what can I say about your watercolor skills? The tones of the blue and purple...so many tones and deepness. And the bg is superb. I wonder how you did the star in the middle. You're really skilled!
