Description
The Norse goddess of healing. HB Pencils, mostly done while waiting in a hospitalIn Norse mythology, Eir (Old Norse "help, mercy") is a goddess and/or valkyrie associated with medical skill. Eir is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources; the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson; and in skaldic poetry, including a runic inscription from Bergen, Norway from around 1300. Scholars have theorized about whether or not these three sources refer to the same figure, and debate whether or not Eir may have been originally a healing goddess and/or a valkyrie.
This was done as an offering for the mending of my daughter's arm.

I love that her headdress is reminiscient of a nurse's cap!

Can't say it was intentional, but you're right.
Thank you

Thanx
No, I don't. Then I myself was really surprised by the matter, though I regard it a splendid idea.
The site linked might add one in time - they are working on a shrine for Frigg right now. But I think they wanted to start with lesser known deities, as almost every heathen around gives a toast to the old One-Eye...

I hope it does. Odin is my patron god...he always kept a little of his attention to me...and I'd like to repay it.
