... have been raised in this huge nest? I discovered this nest three years ago and bald eagles (the same parents each time perhaps) have returned each year (so far.) I expect another brood to arrive sometime this March. I'm told eagles add to the construction (of the nest) each year. I cannot fathom how much this nest must weigh and I'm told they sometimes collapse under their own weight if limbs supporting can no longer support it. It sits about 60 feet up in the tallest tree around, (a Cottonwood) near the Arkansas river. I will return on the warmer days this winter and spring to catch some more bald eagle shots.
