Description
This flicker sat on a limb maybe 6 from a perched kite I was photographing. He sat there a considerable time, long enough for me to get several pics and this was his best profile.
I had not seen the yellow coloring under the tail before and it stood out in all my photos of this particular bird.

This is a male with a black (as opposed to red) malar (which I learned means cheek) marking. Viewed more from the front and if looking toward you
it appears the bird has a "Fu Manchu" mustache.
