Description Oil on canvas 60cm x 76cm
Second in my Angel series, and intended to contrast with my other Angel in black [link] . Started about a year ago, but I had a lot of difficultly with the background. Originally I planned a series of snow-capped mountains moving into the distance but it did not really work. Then I had one of my moments of inspiration, I thought of pictures I had seen of the ruins at Delphi. So I created my own ruins of the Oracle.

Used the superb stock image from mjranum-stock link [link]

..."hallelujah"to your "moment of inspiration",my dear Allen(lol).
I took a glance on it yesterday, and wanted to wait,to have enough time to write you my comment. This painting again, takes all my admiration. Not only, because of the choice of this greek"sanctuary",the "heart of the earth"for Greeks, although,as such,I am honoured in a certain way,to see,how wonderful you brought it's beauty out...
I really like "your way"of having represented the oracle of Delphi, with the rocks, seeming to climb up "to heaven".
The angel is graceful, beautiful, seeming to be "proud"and "serene".the wings are so well done.I am also adoring the sky, extremly well done, giving an astonishing ambiance, and wonderful contrast,at the same time.
To resume,I am fascinated by the whole ensemble, and every detail.
I would like to ask you permission,to "download"this one ,and also the "black angel".just, because I really like it,and so I could have something from you
Another friend here on DA proposed me once ,to do a download,of one of his drawings,I really liked.I would like to put them in a special album, another "treasurebook "of mine (lol)like one I have, with poems, and philosophical phrasess,or another, with cards,or letters from my best friends.
It is helping me,sometimes,to find peace and serenity,in a certain way, maybe a "sanctuary",too.Just tell me,if you mind or not.
Congratulations,for this wonderful painting,another "masterpiece",dear Allen!Thank you for sharingxxx

I’m so glad you like it Flo, you are more than welcome to download these pictures. I’m, touched and honoured that you would want to.

As you have noted I do very much like to add the ancient or mystical aspect to my art. In my recent visit to Germany and Holland I saw constructions which were old before my country has been discovered, they were wonderful, and some awe inspiring, but I don’t think anything there would compare to truly ancient monuments of the ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Mayans or the like. Until I have a chance to see them in person I have to be satisfied with imaging them in my artwork.

As always I am very appreciative of the and your comments and very much look forward to them.
Please take care Allen

...Sorry for my late reply,Allen.
Thank you so very much for your permission, and I am the one ,who is honoured
Next time ,you come to Holland, and, being so close to Belgium, you should tell me(lol).Yes,there are surely wonderful and lovely "ancient"constructions in Germany,France,Austria,Holland ect.But ,nothing compared to the "fascination"coming from real ancient monuments,as you citated,I agree.
Thank you so very much for your last phrase, too,Allen,It touches me very particulary,at a point, you can't imagine.
Have a wonderful day,my dear friend!

Thanks so much, I would love to meet you, but I don’t think I will be going anywhere soon. But you never know, my Karate club has one international trip each year and the Company I work for does hold meetings around the world, although I am not usually invited to those (lol).
My trip to Holland was a spur of the moment thing, just a quick jump across the border for a day. In the Karate tournament I attend there was a team from Belgium, and they seemed a quite nice bunch of people.
Best wishes....

...even if it is in a year, whenever you can ,or want,it would be pleasant,Allen. As you say,you never know(lol).
Thank you again for the 2 "angels".They are so beautiful,I can imagine, how splendid they must be in real size. They were laying on my table yesterday and today, and all persons(family and friends)seeing them there, admired them ,my little daughter included. She said:Is this a magician ,who sent it to you(I said, yes,"MERLIN"the magician!,and smiled. She said"I think they are there to protect you!"I was a kind of speechless.she is a very "special and sensible child". I want to believe, what she said.i will write you a small note,as soon as I can
