Description
My logo (used on letterheads, etc). It's actually a rather small piece of work and is cut-out (you might be able to tell the background is that of a scanner). I had to use nail scissors. It took a while.Related content

Hi Marianne
Many thanks for the kind comments. What's Louisiana like? I'm from the cold north-east of england (I say cold, we're still in the middle of a terrific heatwave - a very rare event - we hit 37C!).
I lie you Leo work - are you also an August child?

Hi! You're very welcome! Ohhh Louisiana is HOTTT - about 95 F - and with the heat index it makes it feel like 105 F!! I am a Sept child - Virgo! D Thanks so much for adding me to your friends list!!

Thank you
It's actually normal 25g white cartridge paper - I coloured it in with Karismacolor pencils. It's about 10cm tall.
Was just looking at your photo 'Crossed'. That's quite amazing. When I read it was a bus stop it becomes quite obvious, but until then it looked really demonic (which is cool considering it's a cross). Having said that it still looks really demonic. Nice pic

Thank you
Can I ask... were the boots 'On the Line' naturally there or did you pop them up? It's an excellent photo - took me back a bit (not that I'm old or anything though lol). You don't see much of that anymore. Also car tyres around lamposts - that's gone too...
Love your attitude photos - especially #2.
How amazing is Apocolypse Now? I've watched it in many different states of conciousness to fully 'feel' it. The bull scene never fails to disturb though...

Actually, the boots were up there. Its outside my old school, and on the last day all the boys threw their school shoes up there. The freedom got to them And as for apocolypse now, My god! I have never become so engulfed in a movie. Magnificent! What about you? Favorite movie?

Fave movie's 'The Wicker Man'. Hollywood's doing a remake which is rather worrying - it's about as celtic/pagan as you can get. Not sure how Hollywood's going to pull it off (what about the musical score for a start...)... but I'll keep my mind open.
Also quite a fan of Rob Zombies films - great future there I think. Considering I'm a pacifist I love some f*cked-up films ;-D Huge horror fan - my fave genre (intelligent sci-fi coming a close second). But it's got to be done well. I first watched Apocolypse Now on LSD. You can imagine lol.....
Where abouts in Ireland are you? A country I've longed to visit. Another of my favourite films is called 'The Field'. It's a channel four film set in Ireland around the time of the potato famine. It deals with outsiders, love, the land, and the church in Ireland (not to mention madness, greed and a tinkers donkey!).
It's feckin excellent :-D

I actually never saw the wicker man. Truth be told, i am a chicken with horror movies. I am mad into the drama. Things like monsters ball, shawshank redemption... all that stuff. The closest i get to horror is the shining, and once (one horrible night ) I watched the exorcist... oh god, i didnt sleep for weeks. I know the field well. We had to read it when i was a wee lass in school. Bloody Brilliant! Well, we have covered films, where do you stand on music?

It's kinda strange as The Wicker Man isn't really a horror movie, though it's percieved as such all the time. It's much more pagan and beautiful. The music is well wierd - deeply hypnotising. If you ever get the chance to see it I'd certainly recommend it
Musically... strewth, ehm... Gong, The Raconteurs, Steve Vai, Underworld, Steve Hillage, Razorlight, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Soft Machine, The Orb, The Shamen, The Stone Roses, The Beatles, David Lee Roth, The White Stripes, The Killers, Wham, Zero 7, UNKLE, The Verve, Black Sabbath... it's easier to say what I don't like really. I have trouble with Gangsta Rap/HipHop (same as you I see), RnB and Country & Western. Even then I like some stuff from those genres. Pretty open with music to be honest. I've been playing guitar for 19 years now - which has pretty much open my ears/appreciation to many different styles :-D
If you get chance can you tell me a bit about Ireland? Love to hear about it first hand. The history and politics are fascinating. If that's totally boring or sensitive you don't have to though
Hope you're having a funky time whatever you're doing

Rightio, first things first... music Matchbox twenty, Willy Mason, Jeff Buckley, Beth Gibbons, Damien Rice, Paolo Nutini, Colin Hay, Nelly furtado (seriously underrated), Josh Rouse, White stripes, Jose GonzΓ‘lez, Rufus Wainwright, The faces, Bob dylan, The Beatles, OK GO, Queen, White Stripes, Snow Patrol, Greenday... well those are the basics. I could go on for years... I agree with you about the rap though. Cant stand it! Although i must admit i have a special place in my heart for garth brooks (i know, the terrible shame
)
I played guitar for about 14 months or so, but then spent most of my time on the piano. I am a big debussy fan, so piano is a great love of mine.
And what is there to tell of ireland. I live in the city, so dont expect a little red haired girl and green eyes, milking the cows on the weekend . Ireland, like all countries, has its beauty. Its a very picturesque and romantic place alright, especially if you venture out into the countryside. Ever read 'under the hawthorn tree'? That basically sums up irish life in the country quite nicely (without the technology). What would you like to know about? Im here to entertain!

Hey excellent - someone else who thinks Nelly Furtado is underrated She's excellent. You like some funky music. What grade are you on the piano? I adore piano. I got as far as Fur Elise lol - I'd like to take it up again sometime in the future - I found it very relaxing.
Lol at the image of the red haired green eyed milkmaid (though it does have a certain appeal). I'm going to get hold of a copy of 'under the hawthorn tree' and give it a read
I'm also going to have a listen to some debussy - always nice to expand musical awareness
Which city are you in?
Love your quote about enemies

Yippee, somebody that likes nelly furtado! I actually got her album as a mistake. My brother had wanted to get the 'nelly' (rap fellow) album, but had got hers by mistake. He gave it to me, and dear lord, i was hooked! I am sure you can get 'under the hawthorn tree' in any bookshop. It was huge over here in ireland. Oh, and if you are going to listen to debussy, may i suggest 'claire de lune'. Wonderful piece. I learnt it on piano a few months ago.
I live in dublin. Thats the capital, but i guess you know that . And what about yourself? Tell me about your country!

Aah Dublin. I've heard it's a fantastic city. Not to mention one of the best nights out in the world...
You want to know about england? It's shit. It's dirty, it's rude, it's corrupt, it's violent, and it's just a nightmare 90% of the time. It also has some spectacular scenery (which is why I'm still here really - though a permanent move to Holland is looking likely). Have been semi-professional as an artist since 1999 but am now in the process of going fully professional.
I'm going to check out 'claire de lune' and 'under the hawthorn tree'

Dublin i admit, is a very beautiful place... if you know where to look! The deeper you go into the city, it becomes as every other overcrowded filthy place unfortunately (i read too much t.s eliot ). I am off to england on thursday actually. Any suggestion of good places to visit in london?
And congratulations of going professional in art! A wonderful decision!
What is holland like? Amsterdam as crazy as they say?

Lol Amsterdam. Think crazy. Now think crazier It's wonderful. Nowhere near as many hippies as I expected (in fact very few) but the whole city-vibe is amazing. Very flowing, very peaceful. Totally recommended. It IS surreal skinning-up outside at a cafe whilst seeing families walking round the red-light - complete with children in tow...! It's a fun city, a mellow city, and above all a very intelligent city - the dutch have a superb standard of education.
I've got to confess to never having read a TS Eliot in my life (the shame - after just mentioning good education lol) - but will try one out asap (I've a bit to do - 'under the hawthorn tree', 'debussy', and now 'ts eliot' lol). I'm a huge fan of DeQuincy, Dickens, and the lakeland poets (Keats, Shelley, Wordsworth, etc).
Ehm, good places to visit in london... what's your thing?
Hope you're having a funky day

Wow amsterdam sounds amazing! I wanted to go over there last year, but the price of flights was huge! (something like 600 euro). You never read T.S Eliot? Wow, you are missing out my dear. The only example i can think of his work, is in apocalypse now. Marlon Brando is often reading his poetry thoughout! (look out for 'the hollow men'!) I must admit, i have never read DeQuincy, although i know dickens and keats well enough. My favorites are bishop, plath, yeats (of course, i am irish!) and eliot. I am going to have to give dequincy a look up! Thanks for all the new poets to read!

Is it really that expensive to fly to Amsterdam? That's well-pricey Hey, if I make a lot of money I'll fly you over
lol. Aah, that's how I know of Eliot - Apocolypse Now. Excellent.
