I haven't drawn anything decent for myself in a very long time, so I drew this when I finished commissions. I've wanted to use these colours (light yellowish blue and pastel pink) for so long! <3Being a n00b at drawing backgrounds, I had no idea what to do with all the white space, but then I remembered that I had a really nice tutorial saved on my laptop on how to draw walls. Mine turned out nowhere near as good as in the tut, but I also tried to keep it less realistic, to match the character.
It's Aori~! I've been trying to finalize her colour scheme lately. I'm not sure if the difference is showing xD But I'm sure she isn't happy with it (she hates pink, unlike me... which is unfortunate for her ˇ u ˇ).

What program do you use..? gimp, paint tool sai, photoshop? i admire ur work greatly! any tips for a beginner? arigato!! ;3;

I use Paint Tool SAI now, and do some modifications at the end in Photoshop. I could really recomment SAI since it's pretty easy to use (at least I think drawing is more comfortable in that than in PS) and also takes much less space! I think looking at others' pictures is a very nice start, both because they are good for reference (if you're unsure how to draw something, a pose, an object, anything) and you can study how the person colours this or that. If you see someone that draws e.g eyes the way you like it, you can try recreating it in your own picture. It may not be your preferred style in the end, but you'll learn a lot from it probably. c':
