EDIT: I fixed the trees up a little bit, as well as centered the waterfall, which was embarrassingly situated on the mountains at an angle. Thanks for all the faves and comments!

I’ve been meaning to paint something Spirit for a while now since I love that movie, and once I got a message in my inbox about the Deleted Scenes Spirit Contest [link] at The-Spirit-of-Spirit [link] , I took it as encouragement to get working on it!
Here is Spirit first meeting the iconic eagle of the movie. I could see their friendship growing as they grew up, so I thought it would be cute that the eagle was still an eaglet when Spirit was a colt. I had considered painting the snake or rat curled up, but decided I preferred the eaglet.
I might paint another one before the contest ends, just for fun, but I have a few other paintings I’ve been neglecting. Hope you like this!
