Father topic= like treading in a mine field~(I think of all the FF heroes, the only one I can recall atm which is pretty good father-child relationship is for Butz/Bartz lol)

I'm pretty sure that Bartz isΒ the only main protagonist on good relationships with his father (other than, y'know, his dad being dead, though that's unrelated to Bartz). Unless you bring up the possibility that Yuna is actually the protagonist of Final Fantasy X, though if by "main protagonist" you mean "in Dissidia", yeah, Bartz is the only one.

Yeah, it always seems like the main characters either have a good relationship with their parents, or don't have one at all.

I have notice that most characters don't have a good or non-existent relationship with their fathers. I guess Garland would be considered a father for Zidane, but he never cared for Zidane and probably thought he was just tool. Cecil and Ceodore seem to have a good relationship though, I really can't see Cecil being a negligible father

Tidus hates his father because, growing up, Jecht always insulted and embarrassed him. Apparently, it was Jecht's way of trying to encourage Tidus to become tougher so he could take on life's challenges. It backfired though, and Tidus took it to heart. Jecht really does care for him, but he never let that be known.

For Cloud, it was like, "Zidane, look what you did!" For Squall, it was more, "Eh, no harm done." For Tidus, it was just, "You shouldn't have gone there, man." Poor Zidane, he had no idea what was coming... At least his relationship with Squall was comfortable enough that no damage was suffered. Now we just need a Hyper for Cloud and a Tranquilizer for Tidus, and everything will be okay.
