◊ Abilities:
- Caneeva is an earth demon with a subtype of a mountain demon. His body contains a solid amount of metals and minerals which makes him a slow runner as he is simply heavy. His skin is rough and thick which makes him more resistant to hits. At this point his resistance to fire is higher but at the same time water makes more damage to him.
- His hoof-like feet and off-centred vibrant spine make him more stable on solid surfaces (mountains, stones). It is really hard to put him out of balance but once it comes to walking in dunes he has to put a double effort while moving (reason why he carries a walking stick around).

◊ Personality:
Caneeva does not really have a strong judge of social norms or a strong sense of privacy due to the environment he grew in. In his understanding thieving is a same thing as borrowing; as long as he thinks he can get away with things he’ll make them happen. On the other hand, his “averageness” makes him almost invisible in the crowd as he does not stand out. He’d rather not risk if there is no need to… Caneeva loves big crowds but hates to be in the centre of attention. As stubborn as a mountain goat - if provoked, regardless of his position, he picks up a fight and even if he turns out to be weaker than the opponent he rather blacks out than flees. “No horns” does not mean “no pride”.

◊ History:
Caneeva comes from a closed community of mountain demons. He was born from the arranged marriage from father’s 3rd wife and grew up in a big family with 14 other brothers and half-brothers. For awhile he was this average middle brother with no face or purpose what so ever... got slightly spoiled as could get away with pretty much anything that he messed up. Of course he had his ass kicked by other brothers but other than that he learned how to become invisible.

All male demons of his kind grow a set of fabulous horns once they mature but similarly to deer antlers, the horns “die off” and shed at some point. Caneeva got his horns very early but once they shed for the first time they just won’t grow back… this issue is not uncommon among their type but the child gets mutually stigmatized. Surely, Caneeva has a big complex about it. Actually, this issue became a reason why he put himself on a quest of self improvement. He always tried to become something more than he was – just wouldn't put up with the idea that he is nothing more than a hornless earth demon somewhere in the middle of nowhereness desert.

Rules in the family were pretty strict and the life in the desert was pretty tough. Family was always moving as the main profit they made was from trade and herding. The father and 2 oldest brothers were role models for Caneeva, though they would always look down on him for being different. When 2 elder brothers left to serve the military family was very proud. At that point Caneeva realized he’d never catch up and went rogue. When it was time for him to leave the family he did not want to settle, he left to the capital with a promise he will never come back to where he came from. Now he lives somewhere in between the slums and the middle class district and works as a freelance guide for travelling merchants/caravans. Other than that he can be met somewhere on a route between Town’s Square and the Nomands making a profit from theft and trade. He has never been outside Ira before but knows the land of his origin pretty well.

X pets, animals (who seem to dislike him too).

◊ Additional Information:
Caneeva’s kind of demons can be commonly met in dry and moderately hot districts; they form small pastoral or horticultural communities and prefer to live in mountains or deserts.

*Their families are patriarchal and have strict hierarchy and traditions.
*They practice polygamy - each male is expected to form a family once they reach final stage of maturity. Averagely, each family has about 16 members with maximum of 4 wives.

Advanced, high-rank demons of his type may cause severe ground vibrations through magnitudes. Mature demon would have a set of 2 pairs of horns that may also represent their status (horns eventually stop shedding). The richer horns male has the more wives they can marry. The ones like Caneeva have no priority to have a bride and breed until they manage to grow horns (which may never happen).

As demon matures their body becomes covered in mineral-dust forming a layer of thick second skin with a texture similar to a smooth rock. Type of their base mineral depends on their habitat, personality and diet. With time, demon becomes immobile and meet their slow death at the spot they chose to be their grave (usually deep underground caves some of which can be recognised as family tombs). When the demon dies at the old age they turn into a solid mineral-stone. It is believed that the mind of a demon gets trapped in the stone until it turns to dust.
