Description I've always wanted to make a fighting game using my characters and story...I think if I won a ton of money I'd hire a team to make it, too. One of the things I did a long time ago when designing my OC's was give them fighting game movelists that they bust out at various points in the story as well.

Here's a mock screenshot I made up. I put together various sprites, edited them, recolored them...all sorts of fun stuff. The HUD I made from scratch, but it's essentially a combination of CvS2 and KOFXIII's HUDs. It turns out shoes are amazingly difficult to edit/recolor, and I couldn't find any good footwear for Reika, so...her and Kotsu have the same shoes! Perhaps they just have similar taste in footwear?

In this night-time battle, Kotsu Kobayashi and Reika Kanzuki square off in the center of Roppongi. In the exact moment, Reika has guarded against one of Kotsu's whirlwind projectiles, taking a bit of chip damage and decreasing her guard gauge slightly. Both girls have full super meters though, so they should be wary of one another, before one of them unleashes a level 3 Desperation Attack!!

Kotsu's level 3 DA: Gattling Strike: a flurry of punches delivered at machine-gun like speed, followed by a large cyclone created from Kotsu's own fists.

Reika's level 3 DA: Heaven Breaker: using her Demon Eyes ability, Reika delivers a volley of Muay Thai kicks and knees, ultimately delivering a vicious high kick to the opponent's throat.

I'm in the process of working with a couple of artists to get better sprites made. I'm very excited about that!

Sprites; all taken from Melty Blood: Actress Again. I did a lot of splicing and recoloring them.
The stage is called Fiyuki City, apparently it's from Fate/Stay Night? Not sure about that.
The character portraits were done by and they kick ass!

why not do a kickstarter then?

It's definitely something I've thought about it, but I'm unsure of how it would turn out, I suppose. Plus there's always the "what-if" that we get funding and then can't put anything together in the end, then we get ourselves into a financial hole that we might not be able to climb out of and so on and so forth. I definitely would if I had a team of people. As it is, I have myself who can write the story/dialogue, has all the movelists and designed the characters and I can produce the music, but I can't do much else. I have a good friend who's a programmer, but the two of us alone wouldn't be able to get much accomplished as neither of us are artists.

Anyway, thank you for the view and comment! Much appreciated

well I don't see why you can take a chance and make your dream come true, if you just need programmers then just ask around the internet, there are literally tons of them just waiting for the chance to help make a game.

also you can't really get into a financial hole with kickstarter, you don't automatically get all the money donated to kickstarter when your funding ends, so you have time to get people to help your work on it. not to mention that having a kickstarter page at all and getting the word out is a good way to find people to help out with the project.
