Actually it could have been more evenly matched. Remember, the claw of the Velociraptor was right by the Proto's throat on the fighting dinosaurs speciman. A stab to the jugular would have been fatal.

Still an adult Protoceratops would be risky prey. I personally think Velociraptor would have preferred the more lightly built Oviraptor.

Likely. Even the protoceratops of the famous "Dueling Dinosaurs" was 2/3 sized subadult.
