Personal Log: No. 00151

'I’ve lost count of the number of cycles it's been since I decided to take up arms with the Autobots.

It almost seems like the days have begun to blend together. Day after day, the Decepticon factions remain relentless in their pursuit of raw energon; and as such, we remain ever-vigil in stopping them. I must confess that I’ve found it more than a little bit difficult to follow Optimus Prime’s orders and operate as a team. I’m starting to miss those cycles that I spent alone. I suppose that’s why I was more than willing to take the solo mission that Prime had meant for Bulkhead.

We had intercepted Decepticon communications indicating that a reserve of raw energon was being stored somewhere in the mountains near the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Fortunately for us – the same communication indicated that the reserve was minimally guarded. I suppose you could say that I did in fact act against Prime’s orders and went to The Flats alone.

Upon exiting the ground bridge vortex, I was a little taken back by brilliant white of the landscape. In some instances, I couldn’t tell where the ground stopped and the sky began.
It was beautiful.

But it seemed almost as though – as soon as the ground bridge had closed behind me – the shell fire came.

A platoon of Decepticon troopers must have seen me emerge from our ground bridge from the half a mile I was from their location. I suppose though – being covered in bright orange and black armor against the white landscape – I did sort of stand out.

Their shots were scattered and came far short of hitting me. But as they advanced, I could feel the debris from ricocheting shots spray the armor of my stabilizing servos.
I stood my ground.

Integrating some of the armor of my stabilizing servos with the rear back plating I pulled forward my rifle.
I took the shot.

The first Vehicon went down…hard.

Before the first shell could even hit the ground, I fired again. The second Vehicon’s head jolted back- hard – his stabilizers flying out from beneath him. I had hit him square between the optics.

I quickly reset the firing mechanism on the receiver and settled into my stance. Clouds of dust floated up across the Flats – cutting out the blue sky. He was almost on me.

I let the tension out of my shoulders – and uttered the words that Whiplash taught me.

“Ready. Aim. FIRE.”
