Description asked me a long time ago if I would kindly draw his OC, Tsunami the Samurai Rover, in my own style. And it's taken me this long to get it done.

And frankly, I'm none too pleased with how this came out - but oh well, it'll give me incentive to draw some more pics of him.

But anyway, Tsunami is the extremely handsome and totally bad@$$ samurai-OC that came up with, who is supposed to become a mentor to Blitz (and to the other Rovers, of course, but mostly to Blitz) and helps toughen him up.

How did I know you were going to draw him. He looks amazing! He's one of my favorites from MDT. I too am in the process of drawing him... until my computer died on me. But I still an determined to finish it soon.

It'll be awhile before I can get it fixed. But I'm still going to ink it on my desktop computer, which will take awhile to do. But I hope to get it done soon.

WHOA... That is just... Incredible... Oh! (slaps myself in the face)

Whoa! Awesome job, man! I don't know what else to say! Your own rendition of Tsunami looks like how Warner Brothers would have drawn him if the show was still running. But I like that style two. Even though my style is heavily influenced by American comics and Japanese anime, I have to admit Warner Brothers' style is unique as well. Wow, man! I don't know what to say! This is just awesome! And its nice to see someone else's take on my own characters! I'm favoriting this for sure! Thank you so much!

I have not yet figured out the story that will introduce Tsunami into the saga, but I've come up with a name for the title. "Roddo Robasu: Bushiken no Densetsu", which translates as "Road Rovers: Legend of the Samurai Rover".

Hehe, wow, thanks man! Glad you like it! Although I'm still not too pleased with it (mostly because his head is too large in porportion to his body; but oh well, I can fix that up in any other drawings I do of him ). But your welcome, I'm glad you like it so much, thanks! It was my pleasure, too. Awesome title, I like it! Hm, and as for the story to introduce Tsunami... well, I remember that your other OC, Dr. Psycho was the one who created him, right? And that Tsunami's loyalty to his previous master was what kept him from going along with Parvo's evil ways, right (that, along with the fact that Dr. Pscyho allowed him free will like Geist, Prowl and Sheng-Long, unlike the other canomututants)? I think you can play along those lines, and have it so that Tsunami, when he was first created into a canosapien, he was intended to be an assassin like Geist, only Tsunami kept on remembering the teachings of his old master on his mission. At first, Tsunami does what he's instructed to do and attacks the Rovers and gives them a run for their money, but the constant resurfacing of his old master's teachings makes Tsunami realize what he's doing, and he realizes he's doing the wrong thing, and so leaves. Perhaps Parvo considers Tsunami a traitor and assigns Geist the task of eliminating him, and somehow Blitz gets involved in the whole mess? That way it would explain just why and how Blitz would have a stronger relationship with Tsunami than with the others. Maybe they go on a whole adventure together where they bond or something?

No problem, dude! I think you make wonderful works. And though I can see some inconsistencies, but it's not too bad. I still think this is great! Like I said, this looks a lot like how Warner Brothers would draw Tsunami if he was official. But I'm sure you'll fix it in later drawings! I can't wait to see how you draw him in different poses or interacting with Blitz, Roger, or the others.

Moving on, let me educate you a little on my knowledge of the title. The way it would be written in Japanese is this; æŠćŁ«çŠŹăźäŒèȘŹ. However, the kanji symbol that was used to write "samurai" was often this symbol 䟍. But it is also synonymous with the term "bushi", which is written as; æŠćŁ«. Bushi can translate as "samurai" or "warrior". And the term "Bushido", æŠćŁ«é“, means "Way of the Warrior" or "Way of the Samurai".

I think that's a good idea to start with. Maybe sometime after we introduce Sheng-Long, we can move on to introducing Tsunami. Dr. Psycho created Geist, Tsunami, Prowl, and Sheng-Long to be top-notch soldiers to serve under Parvo's command. But Tsunami retained his memory and free will, and remembered his previous master's teachings. I can picture it something like this; Tsunami's previous owner was a collector of ancient Japanese relics, studied Japanese history, and even taught martial arts to students. And while he was at it, Tsunami's master would even tell him stories about Japan's history when samurais were present in every part of the country. He would tell him stories of Yagyu Jubei, Goemon Ishikawa, Hattori Hanzo, Yukimura Sanada, Masamune Date, and other such warriors that have lived over the centuries. And he even taught him the seven samurai virtues. These teachings along with his loyalty to his master was what causes Tsunami to choose the side of good. I can imagine that when Tsunami trains Blitz, they take a break, have some tea, and Tsunami tells Blitz the stories that were told to him by his master. One idea I had for Tsunami is that he didn't become a samurai, but was born one. Cuz based on my study so far, the Akita is born with some of the most notable samurai virtues such as loyalty, courage, and dignity. And the virtues that are taught to him by his master, plus the training that he recieves from Dr. Psycho makes him into an actual samurai.

But I actually like the idea that you have; making Tsunami acting as if though brainwashed for a while until his memories resurface sounds like a plan. And I like the idea of Geist being tasked with eliminating Tsunami for turning traitor. I can imagine Parvo saying something like; "How dare he defy me! Nobody defies me and lives!" But how would Tsunami convince the Rovers that he's on their side? And how would we involve Blitz into it? Cuz I'd like to know. And I think an adventure with them together is a great idea. Maybe they could be exploring Japan, encountering supernatural things, or getting jumped by Dr. Psycho's assassins.

Aw, thank you, I'm blushing. But yes, I'd love to make other drawings with Tsunami interacting with the others! (Be prepared: Tsunami has become yet another one of Roger's crushes, so expect Rog to hit on your OC once in a while, okay? ) Oh that's neat. It's interesting all the different signs and letters that are used in Japanese. That's a good idea. After the Rovers have their encounter with Sheng-Long, I like the idea of Tsunami arriving on the scene. But I like the background you've got for Tsunami and his master - though I'm not too sure about the idea of a guy teaching all these things to a dog, since I doubt he ever expected Tsunami to ever become a Road Rover. But maybe he just spoke these things out loud while he was out walking with Tsunami or something? Or maybe he always had Tsunami present whenever he taught his classes, and that's how Tsunami learned? These are just ideas here. Also, the mental image of Tsunami and Blitz taking a break and having tea reminds me of Zuko and Uncle Iroh from "Avatar - The Last Airbender". Oh my, can you imagine Tsunami teaching Blitz how to redirect lightning? ^^ But I do like the idea you have here about Tsunami being born with natural samurai virtues, and having them be honed and strengthened by his master, and then getting formal training from Dr. Psycho. That's really good. Maybe we can make it so that even from the beginning, that is, the beginning of his being under Parvo's service, Tsunami had doubts about his place under the evil cat; that even then his old memories were fighting to resurface. Maybe, we can not use that if it doesn't work well with the story. And not only that, but Geist be assigned to track down Tsunami could lead to a duel between the two, which, of course, would be *FREAKIN'* *EPIC*!!! But as for your questions, hmmm... I guess it depends on what happened before Tsunami changed sides, and how close he came to defeating the Rovers. Maybe there could be a scene where Tsunami is approaching a fallen Blitz, and is about to strike or something, when the akita finally realizes what he's doing, and helps Blitz up. I wish I could think of more, but I'm running out of time online. But I do like your ideas about them exploring Japan! That'd be awesome!

No problem, dude. Really? Uh oh, Tsunami better watch out then!

I know, I'm a nerd when it comes to those things. In fact, I've been studying Spanish and Japanese my whole life. And though I know quite a bit of both languages, I still have yet to fully master them. Anyway, yes; I think it would be a good idea to have Tsunami introduced sometime after Sheng-Long makes his debut.

Oh, and about Tsunami and his master. His master doesn't live to see what happens to Tsunami. But even so, I figured that maybe we could have sequences where Shotaro (Tsunami's owner) sort of talks to him about these things because he and Tsunami have a strong bond. Some people may think he's crazy talking to a dog, but somehow, Shotaro knows Tsunami can understand him. One of my inspirations for this was the scene from "Lady and the Tramp", where this Italian chef tells his assistant to bring spaghetti and meatballs to the dogs. The assistant tells him "Tony! Dogs don't talk!" and Tony replies "He's talking to me!" But I think we could go with your suggestions two. It sounds more plausible since Shotaro would probably underestimate Tsunami's intelligence.

Hah! That's a good one! Come to think of it, I can see Tsunami and Blitz's relationship being similar to that of Zuko and Iroh from "Avatar: The Last Airbender" I don't see why not! We could use that as one of our inspirations! That's right; Tusnami gained most of his wisdom and knowledge from Shotaro. But his fighting skills and powers were taught to him by Dr. Psycho for the purpose of being a killer. But rather, Tsunami decided to use his training for the benefit of others rather than for evil. It's like that old Spider-Man saying; "With great power, comes great responsibilities." A battle between Geist and Tsunami would be epic indeed... I like that idea you have about helping Blitz. Maybe we can discuss this in notes whenever you're ready. I'm open to suggestions.

Hahah, don't worry too much; I'm pretty sure Tsunami can handle himself (and maybe it's Roger who should watch out! ROFL!).

Really? Awesome! Good to see it's paying off and you can use it for creative stuff like this! Actually, I probably should also tell you about another story idea I had awhile back about Sheng-Long. You know how Geist and Prowl first appeared in the same story, and Sheng-Long came in after that? I figured because of that, Sheng should get a solo story just to even out how many stories/episodes/adventures the Troublesome Trio appear in. (I'm calling them the "Troublesome Trio" for now just because it's shorter )

Heh-heh, but I love how you were inspired by "Lady and the Tramp" (actually, I was too: I imagined the Rovers coming to Hunter's rescue like how the dog's came to Tramp's rescue; Colleen runs up to Hunter's cage, they share a little moment, but then they hear whimpering, and Colleen runs around to see what it is - and stops dead at the sight of Exile crushed under something, while a tearful Blitz kneels next to him and howls mournfully - but don't worry, Exile survives just like Trusty did; and the other idea was Blitz and Kumori (the ninja girl dog) having a spaghetti-kiss, and Blitz nudges the last meatball over to her with his nose - and gets sauce on his nose into the bargain, and she thanks him by licking the sauce off, heh-heh-heh.). But anyways...

But yeah, I like that idea of Shotaro having a little "He's talking to me!" moment, but maybe we can find a middle ground between the two ideas: maybe Shotaro does speak to Tsunami about the samurai ways, and somebody walks in on him and asks why he's doing it, and Shotaro replies, "Because sometimes I think he pays more attention to me than my own students" as a bit of a joke.

Thank you! Heh-heh, I suddenly imagined the following scene:

Blitz: I know what you're going to say, that Geist is my brother and I should be trying to get along with him.

Tsunami: No. He's crazy and needs to be taken down.

But I can see Tsunami using a line like that. It's funny, because even though he comes in technically as a rookie, because of his training and wisdom, he becomes sort've like a teacher to the Rovers. But that's another "Avatar" similarity, because Toph came in season 2 as a rookie, but she was already experienced and became Aang's teacher.

But yes, I'd love to discuss this further in notes, and... actually, awhile back, I did think up a possible 'final battle' with Geist, but since you're the one who came up with Geist in the first place, only you can decide what happens to him in the end.
