I was randomly rereading "The Class Menagerie", came across this strip: www.theclassm.com/d/19990822.h… and suddenly I knew right away that I had to draw Mikey being forced to eat that cereal. Rofl!Roger managed to get Mikey to play a game of poker with him, and since the characters are underage, they follow the strip's rule about no underage gambling, and instead, just make bets. Roger offers a deal: if Mikey loses, he has to eat one box of Fruity Puffs. But if Roger loses, he has to give up junk food for a year.
I'm sure you all can guess how things ended up.
Although Mikey couldn't eat more than 2 or 3 spoonfuls before he started throwing up. After that, Roger said the roo didn't have to finish the box, and Mikey was grateful.

That's quite a predicament he got himself into! Imagine the sugar rush he's probably going to get afterwards xD. Plus it's funny to see Roger being devious.

I remember seeing that comic too awhile back.
I remember hearing about people who haven't had sugar for years or never. Many said when they first try it, it has an awful taste.
Good thing that Roger didn't let him finish the box. However, that means Mikey didn't fulfill has part of the bet.
I must say too that you did a great job at drawing Barry.
Hmm, how would've Roger handled not eating junk food for a year?

Oh, I think this is before they become boyfriends. Once they start dating, Roger makes certain to be nicer to the roo.
Not sure if you can tell or not, but I put in every single type of Fruity Puffs into that bowl: the fruit stuff, the chocolate stuff, and the sugar cube stuff. So that's not only a lot of sweetness, but also a lot of contrasting flavors. So no wonder Mikey already looks sick, lol! Heck, *I* wouldn't want to eat that stuff! xD

Agreed. Tony must have one iron-stomach that he eats that stuff. I doubt Mikey is the only one who threw up from that cereal!
I've heard of that too. I actually went through a time where I didn't drink soda. Course I got back into it and still enjoy it, but still.
Roger: So what if Mikey didn't hold up his end of the deal? It was just a silly college bet. Besides, I wouldn't have held up my end of the bargain if *I* had been the one who lost. I love chocolate and cheeseburgers way too much.

Heh, although Roger said he wouldn't have held up his end of the deal, I'll bet if he tried to, he'd find loopholes: he'd simply buy gourmet chocolates/cheeseburgers, claiming that since they're made from the "finest" ingredients, they don't technically count as junk food.

It's all apart of growing up and getting older, I guess. Sugar begins to appeal to us less, though eating less sugar is a good thing (unless you have low blood sugar, but that's neither here or there).
