It's been a long time since I drew something, so I drew this yesterday instead of studying. I'm quite satisified with the shading, but I could have done it better. I was too lazy to draw a background this time. It took me less than one and a half hour to draw this.
EDIT: Added transparent background, I can't come up with a good one anyway.

I didn't draw one because I couldn't think of a good background for that picture.

Yeah, that's the problem I always have....
Either I'm too lazy to do a background, or if not, I have absolutely no clue how to make a decent-looking background....

I agree. They're a pain to draw, but if done good, they can make a picture much better.

That's why I try to draw simple backgrounds. If I draw something detailed in the background, it will ruin the rest of the picture.

Yeah... I just either colour the whole background one colour or just draw little shapes around the character/focal point....
(But most times I just leave in blank....)

I prefer to draw a simple sky as a background. It doesn't ruin the picture, and it can capture the feeling of the picture if used in the right way. And it's not too difficult, unless you I try to draw clouds... Which are a nightmare to draw for me.

The teachers don't appreciate my sketches, even though I do my work... So I wouldn't recommend doing that during classes. Especially not during tests...
